PreCeremony SpongeBob sucks at Keeper In the words of Bane from the new Batman film..."The Fire Rises!"
Looked really James Bond-y isn't it? I thought he suits the character more than Daniel Craig himself last night.
That was pretty awesome for Becks last night. Good for him, although he obviously should be playing with team GB. But not a bad way to recognize all his efforts in bringing the games to London.
LOL that girl in the photo booth kissed him on the mouth and said you're beautiful. What balls. I wonder if that would fly when I meet Mila Kunis.
Important? Yeah, and he did so well that next month they will let him actually cut the ribbon at an opening ceremony for a new ASDA in Milton Keynes.
I'm surprised that we haven't gotten any Beckham sightings since the opening ceremony yesterday. I expected to either see some British tabloid snapping photos of him in London today or getting a clear indication of whether or not he'll play against Dallas (not this last-minute notification).
Cadaver is going to go ballistic with this one: http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2012/08/02/david-beckham-heading-to-london-again-apparently/ Missing the Chivas game? Really?
Sigh... I think many of us are beyond that at this point. Sad resignation is probably a more common response. Quite frankly this type of thing makes MLS look like a joke. It looks like a part-time hobby for Becks. Yeah... he's committed when he's here. It's just that the Galaxy appear to fall somewhere below his wardrobe and his hair on his priority list.
Prescience is a burden. Except for the Team GB part, perhaps -- but my money's still on Bellamy creating a diplomatic crisis.
By the way : Hold on a minute . . . . . . what's this guy doin' in the bottom right corner? Is he . . . Is he . . . .drivin' the flippin' boat while Becks just stands there?? Are you kidding me? What next -- you're going to tell me the Queen didn't really do a Louganis out of that chopper? Oh, London -- Must you turn these hallowed games into a Temple of Lies!
It really doesn't matter whether he is here or not. We are winning games without him. He should not be getting full pay.
No, he's merely the latest mortal to be mesmerised by the hallowed "Butt of Becks". Note the fixated line of sight. I'm sure he had lots of explaining to do to his superiors: Superior: Good heavens man! You said you were up to the task! You said you could handle it! Boat Bloke: I...I thought I was...! When we used the test photos, the videos... even the high-def hologram, I held back.... but when it's there... in the flesh... it just draws you in... and then you just have to touch it... just once.... (starts to sob uncontrollably)
So disturbing, and so funny. Whoever said the line about "sad resignation" has it exactly---not happy he's missing games in the middle of our playoff push, but really didn't expect anything different, we're used to it by now, so oh well. The outrage burned itself out a couple of years ago, the Cup salved a lot of wounds, and all the fire is gone. It's like some weird sort of abusive relationship that we've gotten used to.
Disappointed. Annoyed. Not surprised. In my opinion the Opening Ceremony should have been enough. It's not like we are sitting comfortably atop the league right now.
Well, he probably would have got a yellow card in the Dallas match and most likely will in the Seattle match, so he would have missed the Chivas game on another yellow card suspension anyway.......
