BvB's CFO Joachim Watzke has joined Beckenbauer, Reinhard Rauball and the rest of the DFB for Blatter's resignation.

The English FA is the only other FA to have made their feeling so public. Hopefully we can join forces against the evil.

there is no evidence he took bribes personally or he wouldn't still be president... or am I being too naive about the whole thing... i dislike blatter as much as the next guy but what good does it do to embellish whatever he did or didn't do.

and there is no evidence of who exactly voted for which bid besides a tally provided at the end of each voting round

the lack of transparency coupled with the obvious motivating factor behind both bids should make it obvious to all of what occured

Still... at least he's a lot corrupt than the other people who stood on the FIFA ballot...

I also find the recent information released that Blatter knew about Havalnche (sp) taking bribes when he was President of FIFA and not reporting it interesting

almost as interesting as Havalanche supporting Blatter as President when he decided to "step down"

    FIFA- the definition of corruption

Where exactly do you plan on playing Jones? He rather than Luiz has always reminded me of Neville's silly Playstation quip.

Blatter has overseen a culture of corruption for decades. He has handed out patronage in return for support, which is why FIFA is full of his cronies and has absolutely no transparency. Honestly, who in the world is voting for a tournament in Qatar in the summer on the basis of merit? I'm not overly enthused about Russia getting the 2018 Cup either, but that at least makes a lot more sense.

im not sure fergie even knows yet nice..unfortunately cb i expect, due to injury's. possibly midfield. i think he actually played way more than even we expected last year due to our injuries. but hes clearly not ready for a cb role with us yet.

he tends to do least damage at a midfield spot where the likes of carrick can hold his hand, so hopefully this is the plan.

I do wonder if Fergie ultimately sees him as the solution to the box-to-box midfielder you've been missing for years, because he just don't have the positional awareness to play at RB or CB. There's talent there, but it's not allied to a footballing brain at the moment; though who knows what will happen in a few years.

Obviously I'd have liked it to be in England but I don't think anyone can seriously say Russia isn't entitled to it or isn't due.

But, as you say, QATAR??? WTF?

What's next, Greenland? Bottom of the Mariana trench, perhaps?

the pretense Blatter used to send the WC to all of these "smaller" Nations was that it for the development and growth of football in the respective host Nation

just how is football going to develop in Qatar when they are going to remove the stadiums after the conclusion of the WC and sell them to other Nations

    absolute joke

AVB being AVB in the Modric fiasco.

"I think Modric is wrong. This will go against him," Villas-Boas is reported as saying in Spanish newspaper AS. "He has worsened the situation with what he's doing and now the chairman [Daniel Levy] is very angry.
"This is also not a good time for Daniel Levy, who is in the USA at the moment, because his wife is ill."
