As stated discussion for the primary function of discussion. there are symbols to be used to censor out the really cruel things if you don't wnat to (for vulgarity) .
    F*** you, you're a mod. Same thing.
(I hope you are joking entirely on the jingoism) Or the proximity of said city means that, if there was a war for border - similar to one of US vs Mexico - it could have very well happened that they could have been in the US. They're close enough in distance. This is locale-ism, not jingoism. Jingoism would be "Our healthcare is better than yours"...which it's not..

Of which, if you want to get technical, we always will say on game day "our team is better than yours" - especially if we win... so where's the offense in that? Oh wait, we don't have irrational pride associated with our own city, or where we've lived our lives, or where we work and put our heart and soul and are proud of a descriptor that is used to describe where we are from because, well - it's only a sports game... why bother (then why are you in TRE?)
Unless someone made a reference to their ancestors mating with badgers, there's nothing that anyone wouldn't have heard before (my dad would frequently comment on french canadians in this manner)

I guess we should stop making fun of Red Bull, or Chivas (for being the lesser LA team), or any other team for their location, logo, sponsor, players, whatsoever.

If anyone knows anything, this is to be expected (especially when chants and yelling are encouraged)... and more oft than not you will find some from those very same locales, if given the situation, will even be more profane and volatile in stereotypical banter than the common, everyday, ignorant, barely passed high school american.

All in all... some of these complaints on here are overly sensitive. Location and nationality comments are to be expected (the french always surrender) because of stereotypes... as long as it's generally at the team, this is par for the course. It is at a direct player because of the team he plays for...again, par. If it's at the player about who he slept with the other night, that's an issue. If it's about his skin, that's an issue. If it's at another fan, not associated with the team they support, that's an issue.

If it's only because you are outside of your comfort zone... well...

Speaking of offenses - since we're on the topic, i'm offended there's a lack of women players in the MLS.

Yeah, well, I am offended by people that call it THE MLS.

THE Major League Soccer? That doesn't even make sense.

Next thing you know their website domain will be MLSsoccer.com ...

Personally, I just like to hear myself talk, or read myself think, or whatever.

Ahhhh and how does one go about identifying those bastards who belong to the second group??? They don't enter TRE with a scarlet SH on their jersey, right? The point from before still stands, though. Neither group is very willing to participate, so if we assume there's any hope at all that we can somehow get them to sing or at least chant and clap, self-righteously berating them in front of others is probably the least effective way to do so. Fortunately the SOB doesn't have a monopoly on the use of force, so all we have recourse to is positive social pressure. That's all.

If I see the same people there every game not singing I think I can safely assume they should know what is up. I am sorry. Unless tickets were given to you by a friend or it is your first game there is no excuse. There is a reason why those tickets are cheaper. Not just because it is the standing section but you are expected to contribute to the atmosphere. If you have half a section not singing along, etc. then something needs to be done. I'm not saying bash the people but why be so nice about it?

I'll be honest I don't like the "family-friendly" etc. bullshit. This is a workin' class game and workin' class language is used at games. That's how it is everywhere. Different story when it comes to racism and other stuff, obviously, because a line has to be drawn. But being ejected for throwing f bombs etc. is ridicuolous.

Kind of on topic, but seriously, what was up with the YSAs last night? Do people not understand what a "Friendly" is? I don't care if we're down 10-0. There's no excuse for that kind of crap.

There's no such thing as a friendly competition. in the game of soccer, you either win or you die.

Does that mean we'll see 11 totally new players suit up against NYRB this weekend?

Good thing the transfer window hasn't shut.

I think the reason is due to the low turnout we moved everyone from 139 and 140 over to 138 and 137. As you probably know YSA is done and strong in 139. Although everywhere else it is done in 139 it is yelled strong and loud everytime. I dont know if they dont care or if the problem is that they were given the ok to keep it up.

I personally have nothing against those chants because...I mean come on everyone did them and now all of a sudden when you decide its wrong, it becomes "cringe worthy"?

Another point I'd like to make. The guy behind the whole kicking people for saying "fck" was the guy in front of the river end with the brown comb-over and glasses. He specifically told me they wouldn't kick people out for chants involving the words just if they were said individually. For example if we missed a wide open shot and I turned to the guy next to me and said "what the fck was that"? I would get kicked out. We saw a guy get kicked out, it seemed as though the front row got it the worst because the blue guys could hear us. The one red guy turned to me and said "******** that guy" after he left, so I felt a little better

Your ethnic insults need work if you're going to keep using them on us.

Stuff about moose, france, and those usa chants were really good for a laugh. it's as accurate as if we were to make turkey/england jokes about you guys.

The best thing I heard in philly was the suck on my balls thing, that's the best thing you guys did all game, it was funny.
