We know there's gonna be some so may as well start it.

First: Looks like Burgos is waived.

that's the stupidest move ever. Getting rid of him does nothing but lose us a depth option at DM. We're not really at a shortage of roster spots, him and Roberts are tied for making the least amount of money on the team at 33.75k. he doesn't take up an international player spot either.

What good is it to get rid of the guy who makes the least amount of money on the team, and provides decent depth. He seemed like a good player when I saw him.

Sorry to see Burgos gone. I thought he looked OK in his two appearances for the big club but I'm no expert and I wasn't watching him with the reserves so I'm not going to get into this too deeply but were we not sitting at 28 or 29 out of 30 roster spaces? Depending on what Mariner has up his sleeve (and by now we've all heard the Nesta rumours), perhaps he needs those slots for people he's hoping to bring in.

Aceval has a hefty contract but has provided little in return (except for a couple stunning free kicks). I wouldn't mind if Mariner released him and brought in a quality CB.

Today Morgan was signed to a long term deal. Good news for him. But now he counts against the cap, which i don't think he did before.

Even if that is the case, I'm not too concerned - for one thing he's not making all that much, and for another he's well worth it. I saw an article on the mls site calling him one of the top LBs in the league. And let's not forget, he's still only 21

^ Although I'm assuming he got a raise along with the long term contract. Still, he's very much worth it. Also great to see the first Academy player to really make it with the first time. Many more to come, I hope!

WEll I saw this one coming. TFC terminate Soolsma's contract by "mutual consent."

Start saying goodbye to any one who was Winter's player. Yet again a new manager making over the team in his style. Yet again more rebuilding.

LOL. If we're lucky Johnson would have scored twice today.
I imagine Harden must be going at some point and maybe Aceval. I doubt Ecks will be gone even though he's one of Winter's boys.

sad to see Soolsma go, i thank him for scoring the biggest goal in our history. Mariner must have a third option in mind because you obviously need a striker on the bench sooner rather than later.

Ecks is a Mariner guy. If we're lucky Johnson will be traded to some other foolish team. SJ is probably still laughing at us for giving them Gordon for him.
My bold prediction: Avila will be the next to go
then Stinson, Makabuya and Cordon's contracts will be allowed to expire (which I'm guessing will be at the end of this season). Really they need to be loaned out to a lower division team

The moves of Plata and Soolsma are evidence of what we were all suspecting - that there was a divide in the management of TFC. Mariner and Cochrane had their vision and went out and brought in players to fulfil that vision. Winter and BDK had a different vision and hired their players. A competent organization would have never allowed this to progress, but as we all know, MLSE is the complete opposite of that.

So, what was the end result for fans? TFC fans have had to sit through a year and a half of Winter getting only about half the players he needed to execute his vision, and then having to fill the roster with Terry Dunfields who don't fit into a Dutch system. Now we're going to have to sit and wait while Mariner ships out all those players who don't fit his vision. This whole mess should have and could have been avoided a year and half ago, but MLSE doesn't understand the concept of building a team or building for the long term.

Wouldnt surprise me that he's leaving. It would surprise me that another mls team would take him at that salary

Well, it would only be part of the salary, and his contract is up at the end of the season, so I would assume Dallas would probably be keeping him on after at a non-DP level.

Also, I think worth noting is that JDG would probably fit much more readily into Hyndman's plans than Mariner's.

Doesn't look like Dallas is playoff bound this year (at the foot of the Western Conference) and Hyndman's plans may revolve around looking for other employment at season's end.

Doesn't make sense to me at the moment.
