i've finally given up on Abou Diaby.
I always say every season, "this year will be different".
It won't, he won't... time to move on from this kid.

And release a statement that the club has no ambition so he's moving on...

Also a Diaby fan, though it's tough given his injury record. Let's pray he stays healthy...

Does anyone know any links that by chance have the contracts of the Arsenal players? Like when they signed and how long for? Interesting just to know how much longer players like Diaby have.

sagna said it perfectly in a recent interview, somthing to the effect of "if diaby stayed fit, and had a run of games he would be frances most talented player"..... his raw skill is unmatched in the current arsenal squad, shows when you have a promising young player like chuks aneke call him his role model and "the best player he has ever seen"... lay off and pray he can stay fit

As much as i hate to say it, Diaby has the potential to be one of our best players ever. Problem is, i don't think he will ever achieve that potential. Still, i wouldn't let him go. What can i say, when it comes to the Arsenal, i'm an optimist.

Potential is the key word. He shows glimpses of it, but then he gets injured.

"a drain on resources better used elsewhere" is the key

not quite, that was just the club's money going down the drain paying for diaby to be crocked.

only sort of. van persie has contributed more over the years.

van persie- 267 appearances in 460 arsenal matches since he signed, or 58%. (with 119 full 90 mins played)
diaby- 162 appearances in 371 arsenal matches since he signed, or 44%. (with only 66 full 90 mins played)
given the age difference, diaby would need to play every game for at least 1.5-2 seasons to catch up with van persie and about half of those for the full 90 mins.

as a comparison, walcott signed a week after diaby and has also had his own fair share of injuries, yet he has 220 appearances in 370 arsenal matches since he signed, or 59%. (with only 50 full 90 mins played)
pretty obvious that although available more often, wenger prefers/preferred to swap walcott in and out to suit, not to mention the 3 years age gap between diaby and walcott.

you still think that's like van persie? isn't it MUCH worse value for money?
