Players never get ready if you put fear into them, instead of confidence. Logically it's a bit similar with a child learning how to walk. He won't learn if you put him into bed all time. But he will if you help him stand first & continue to push him forward. And frankly we're using that phrase for young players for last 5 years, where has it taken us now? A decent bertrand & a half decent Josh plus a ragged kakuta. I think it's about time we take a step back & try another approach.
Spurs in for Sturridge at 5 million? Many things wrong with that rumor. 1. AVB played him out of position last season. With Adebayor close to signing a permanent deal, this isn't ideal for Sturridge. 2. I'm President of the Get Rid of Sturridge Club, but even I think 5 mill is WAY too low.
I wonder if we're just rattling the cages, a la Modric. That's a lot of money, though. I know we're paying for potential and youth, but that's a lot for a guy with basically 3 years of experience at a top level, counting Mainz.
I can see where Leverkusen are coming from. They only just signed Shurrle last summer, and he had a slightly disappointing first season with the club. He's under contract with BL until 2016 and he's only 21 years old. If he pushes on and has a great season, Leverkusen could have one of the hottest properties in world football next summer. They are under absolutely no pressure to sell him, which is fine with me because I'm not sure he's quite ready for his "big" move yet.
Must have misread the article then. Well are supposedly adding him to their squad, not saying he's adequate
I think we have to be in a position where the fans and management can give a manager that type of flexibility. Besides the Carling Cup which many turn a blind eye to, I just do not see the adequate fixtures to play these lads unless we are willing to roll the dice. PVA may end up being the next Gareth Bale, but he could just as easy end up being the next Gabrielle Ambrosetti. Personally I dont think he is ready yet and dont see the harm in getting him a solid loan to evaluate him further. I think the rumour has been rehashed from early in the summer. Dont see it happening tbh.

Apparently Twitter and the DailyMail are claiming that we have signed Oscar. The fact that it came out of nowhere actually leads me to think it might be true (Both the Mata and Marin deals seemed to come out of nowhere as well). But the DailyMail are on my shit list so who knows really? 25 million pounds also seems very expensive for a young player with no European experience who does not fill an urgent need in the squad. Never watched him play but apparently he is an AM and we already have Mata, Hazard and Malouda who can play there. Not sure if he can be used as a winger.

I doubt this happens, but Oscar has played well enough for Brazil to make many fans question whether he or Ganso should start in the playmaking midfield position.
Hmm... So Mata's under pressure at the start of the season from a fellow Olympian, due to his participation in the Olympics?
I never understood when people say this. From what I understand, Oscar is a centrally located attacking midfielder/playmaker. Hazard is a winger. He doesn't play centrally. Malouda is also more of a winger. Definitely never played anywhere in the center from what I can recall. Mata is possibly suited for a central attacking role, but last season we rotated him in and out of the role fluidly; notably after AVB was sacked. I don't really see him as a central attacking player. We've lacked a central attacking midfielder to learn under Lampard for some time now. If we make this addition, it sounds like we're definitely filling a void; one we failed to deal with last season with Modric.
