True. I mean people want JK fired 7 months ago so I get it. I am just going to watch the next two years see how it goes then he will probably retire no matter whaT. either way bob stepped US to another level and I Think JK will do the same.
I haven't checked the schedule but going by the African teams that have gone to the World Cup....yikes. That seems like a dream. I hope BB is able to organize some sort of mini league or something to keep the players playing.
Jeff, I heard your interview on Beyond the Pitch and I just have to say, PLEASE write that book about the beginnings of MLS. Include all the stories from people you know. That was extremely entertaining. The creation of a professional futbol league....how many Westerners have a story like that? I'm sure you could sell at least a few.
Basically what, 20 minutes of the 1st leg of that series has Bob's job hanging by a thread? If they hold on for that victory, people are singing his praises right now. They've got to get the league going soon if they're going to get to Brazil.
It would have been ridiculous considering the situation Bradley is facing with his team with injuries, most players not having played a competitive set of games in a league prior to qualification, Zidan leaving for money in China.
BB will certainly keep his job for now as Egypt have started off WCQ with a perfect record. They'll easily win that group and then get drawn into the playoff...this is where it's all or nothing. Due to the ridiculous nature of the CAF WCQ procedure it's a home-and-away match to determine the five spots from the continent. If Bob thought those home-and-aways against Grenada and Barbados made him nervous those won't even compare to the pressure he'll have against teams like Senegal, Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, Cameroon, South Africa, etc. Egypt should qualify but it's certainly not a given and that's all that matters as far as him keeping his job.
God, you're a tool. Your post is the 6th in the thread. Please identify the apologist in the first 5 posts. Dammit, I want my neg rep back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, now this thread is interesting. I've long thought an MLS version of "Baseball, When the Grass Was Real" about MLS in 1996 and 1997, featuring interviews with guys like Sneaky Pete Marino and Todd Yeagley and other marginal MLSers would be damn fascinating. [Picard]Make it so![/Picard]
BB has a job at least through their next four WCQ games. No need for him to worry, and no need for a thread like this
