I see there are those of us who want and believe the USA should be taking the next step and handling teams like this, and others who are happy with the status quo. The status quo SUCKS. We have better quality players and should be winning games like this, even if it's played on the moon.

im pretty pro-juergen and the fact of the matter is, if we're satisfied with 1-1 results and sloppy play against a glorified concacaf minnow then maybe we aren't as good as we think.

I don't think WCQ's in central America are ever going to be easy. Plus, one too quick call from the ref turned the game from 2-0 to 1-1. The team handled this game fairly well IMO.

Do people referencing results away to Central American teams in years past realize it's 2012? We drew Guatemala a decade ago.

I'm generally patient but that was a crap performance, poor officiating or not. I'm not seeing anything that suggest we're progressing. In fact when you consider the ages of some of the players and the lack of options to replace them clearly shown by Olympic qualifying, I don't see us getting much better for sometime.

DISAGREE all of Mourinho's teams believe they will win it all...and most of them do!

Fabian stepped into Ruiz. That move was 100 percent gonna get called - if you turn and run with the guy you have a chance, but he just stepped into his run and put up an arm with the ref looking right at him. Ruiz will get that call 9 out of 10.

i think this is a reality check. we simply don't seem to have enough technical players that want to control the ball or that have the skill. Maybe we missed Torres. Our off the ball movement was terrible. Everything was really direct.

I hate to say it, but in these last few games we have seen the return of Donovan as the player who is afraid to drive for the jugular, who hesitates to take his given shot, who plays it safe even when "safe" is the unsafest thing he can do....in short, the Return of the Landycakes.
    As for Jozy.......o_O

Yes. A point on the road is good. The performance was acceptable, but we need to hold the ball more to finish the game. We kept booming the ball back to them just for them to attack again. More composure needed all over the field.

I think they would rather play in the moon than in crappy Guatemala.
