interesting option. Perhaps JK will just hold a foot race between Onyewu, Parkhurst and Cameron before kick-off today, and whomever wins that sprint (and doesn't pull anything) gets the starting left-back spot tonight. Also note, that link is an overall great Q&A with Onyewu.
i think jk uses parkhurst howard dolo goodson boca parkhurst bradley jones dempsey donovan gomez boyd save frabian for guatemala i think a target like pressence will be need as AB bunkers alot and terrence presence is the only targent pressence, as i prefer demps makimg his runs from outside the box
--------------Boyd------------- Dempsey-------------Donovan ---------Torres-Bradley-------- --------------Jones-------------- Parkhurst-Boca-Cameron-Dolo -------------Howard------------- Plz start this Klinsmann and we'll be fine.
I was going for a Bielsa type thing. The next best option for the backline would be to let Dolo push higher into midfield and keep Parkhurst/Boca at home.
Why are so many people calling for 3 in the back? First of all, both Boca or Parkhurst can do a fine job at LB. There is no reason to play a formation that we haven't been practicing and will never use again in the future just because our two left backs are out.... especially against A&B. Practice what we're going to use going forward with the best player that can slot in. I view this game as a good opportunity for Parkhurst. He should get 90 minutes to show us what he can do as part of a 4-3-3- or a 4-5-1 formation.
So this is the lineup thread, but I'm going to use it as a pre game thread rather than start a new one. This game could be a wet one. There are thunderstorms just cruising along dumping heavy rain as they go. Funny to look at patches of blue sky through pouring rain. And as I write this a very loud thunder strike just shook the building.
Currently looking at a 70% chance of precip and thunderstorms during the 7-9pm ET window. Can't recall a US qualifier ever being cancelled for weather. Anyone else?
I can't, but I do remember the monsoon before halftime in the second leg versus Grenada (June 2004). No lightning then, though.

Are you seriously blaming Sunil for having a match in Florida because it's a place where it can rain? USNA becomes more comical by the moment.
Oh, lovely. No left back and a soaking wet field. I do hope we don't have fatigue issues on top of that. This is not looking to be one of our better moments...
no being cynical. they picked florida to expose the team to an area with NO mls presence for quite awhile, because they figured usa can name the score agaisnt AB so the rainmiimizes the talent gap.so instead of a 5-0 win it's 3-0 the presumed goal scored column is less sundown in june in florida is prime time thunderstorm time
