My wife saw a clip for it and said that she "hadn't realised that Costner was such a bad actor" I 'll prolly record then watch it, even though the story (IMO) has been overblown through the years. Just curious to see the production. Trouble for me is that the movie "Winters Bone" has set a sort of (high) standard for this genre. Putting on period costume, patting a little dirt on the face and talking in backwoods English may not be enough. No preconceived ideas here.. I'd be happy to be shown otherwise.
No comments from me.....I know! But I think the first episode. Done. Kilt. It. fo. Me. They're showing both episodes, (1 & 2) tonight.
I am recording it but was unable to complete the first episode when I tried watching it. I'll give it another shot later on.
Got stuck with time last night so I watched part 2. Shouldn't 'coz now I'm committed to part 3...Aw man! Worse dialog, and even worse acting. One hopes with all the dead that came out of the real story, that the gene pool was somehow strengthened. Hmmm. Survival of the fittest.....or smartest.....????????
I've only watched the first 2 but I thought it was great. Really enjoyed learned about the intricacies of the fued, the different characters of each family and how each side decides to get revenge on each other. I agree Paxton is stiff and formal in this one (he's meant to be) but I think Costner is doing a great job. I taped the third part....hopefully will be watching tonight.
My father went to the Hatfield graveyard this week and he said you had to wait in line to take a picture of Devil Anse's grave. I guess people are excited from the mini-series. I have no interest in it. Didn't watch it.
I Tivo'd all three. I made it through 35 minutes of the first one. Maybe it gets better later but I'm not gonna stick around to find out.
It don't git no bedder but lots more of them git kilt. Cool photos Boogie, thanks for sharing. Looks a lot like Costner and just as stiff.. If I wasn't sure that you were in WV, the Hatfield Museum convinced me.
It's a classy joint. Fortunately, those pics are from my father. He took them last week. He and my mother ride all over God's creation on their Harley. Even though I've lived in southern WV most of my life, I don't venture around them parts.
