Never seen him play but he is supposed to be class.

I would love for the future to be Viviani, Florenzi/Verre/Verratti and Pjanic, however I think Pjanic will move on one day.

    pjanic/ddr/marquinho/bertolacci/florenzi/perrotta/viviani/greco(maybe)/simplicio(maybe)

that's more than enough for a 3 man midfield

Apparently Inter have paid 11 million for Palacio and according to Genoa we offered 2 million more. It's good to know we have 13 million to spend on one player. We could get a very good player for 13 million

Now I'm even gladder we didn't get him. 13M on a 30 year old player is just stupid.

but he represented huge jump in quality for our team.last year he was better then any offensive player we had.he single handedly kept genoa in serie a.

i also wanted us to sign him last year, we had an offer & borriello blocked the deal...as he was going the other way.it would have been total steal

Do you think De Rossi will play the same role next season? To be honest I'd like to see him infleunce the game a bit more this season and not play the Busquets type role

It's impossible to say at this point. Perhaps with Villas Boas, but not with Zeman or Montella.

I highly doubt he'll have the same defensive duties, ie. slotting in between the two CBs. I can see him maybe in the middle of the midfield protecting the defence but also being able to go forward something similar to what Essien does/did at Chelsea.

Considering how sharp De Rossi looked this season, I see no reason to start screwing around with him.

Someone like Sissoko or Witsel would compliment De Rossi and Pjanic better than someone like Eriksen, having both Eriksen and Pjanic would unbalance the midfield. Whereas De Rossi, Pjanic and a box-to-box type midfielder would give De Rossi freedom to go forward if he wanted without exposing the defence. This kind of midfield set up is similar to what AVB had at Porto and works in a 4-3-3 pretty well.

Yeah definitely. K. Asamoah is perfect for this role - a good passer with a great engine. We should get this guy for 14-16 mil. instead of spending 6-8 million on Gago. I can't see upside in his game (based on this season).

Is anyone aware of our situation in regards to the 2 non-EU spots? Last summer it was an issue. Can we sign 2 non-EU players this summer?
