I understand that, but I feel like they should just make the replica jerseys we buy a little thicker, and then you can have the authentic on field ones be the thin, tight, ultra breathable ones. If I'm not mistaken some sites did start selling the on field authentics a few years back.

Arjen Robben does not agree with you.

Unfortunately, even those of us who like to work out are probably not in the shape of Arjen Robben.

I like the new syle. It's wonderful playing in those shirts, they don't stick when sweaty like the older ones.

However, they can be awkward to wear all day.

I guess that's a fair point, but I have to think that more people are like me and don't buy a $100+ kit to play in. I could be totally wrong, but in all my days playing soccer (it's been a couple of years since) most kids just wore essentially a gym shirt or something.

When I buy my kits, I like to wear them around all day. I finally just dug my 2005/6 Henry kit out just because I liked that particular material, and to be real the redcurrant kit is beautiful.

I'll be getting one of this year's kits as it's been a few years since I've got one. Any suggestions on who to get, last time I got Arshavin so I no longer trust my own judgement so I'm looking for some help. I'd like to get RVP but who knows how that'll play out.

Do you necessarily have to have a player's name on your jersey? I always just buy the jersey itself, support for the team rather than one specific player.

I understand your quandry as I really dislike plain kits for some reason, but I never understood asking that kind of question, although I am guilty of wondering the same a few times. Realistically our guess is just as good as yours for who may stay and who may go. Personally, I would go with Podolski, Wilshere, Vermaelen, or Arteta, but then again those are just my favorite players besides RvP.

I generally try picking a player who I expect to be with the team through the life-cycle of the shirt.

I got Cesc on my 08-10 shirt. Since it is probably the ugliest of the 4 home shirts I have (04-05, 06-08, 08-10, 10-11), guess which one never gets worn. I won't make that mistake again, though.

I don't mind the tight shirts. I'm a skinny dude, though. My Crew shirt just came in (local team, wife likes to get stuff like this for me) and it is even more snug than the Nike shirts.

Thanks for the input. Ya for some reason I just don't like blank kits (or blank hockey jerseys and baseball jerseys for that matter).

This year's cut on the Adidas MLS shirts seems decidedly tighter than in past seasons.

at least Adidas still puts collars on their shirts, the next Arsenal home shirt with a collar will be a must buy. The Highbury finale kit was the last home shirt with a collar.

Was just checking out Arsenal.com. They've got some of next season's training gear on there now, and it's pretty bad. Interestingly, they are making a warmup jacket in black and purple, so i'm assuming we can expect those colors in our away kit.

BTW, i still hate next years home kit as well. Watching Brazil tonight, i was thinking i wouldn't have minded their template in red and white, with the away kit the same in yellow and blue.

Interesting. I was thinking about how awful Brazil's shirts looked compared to prior editions. The big green cuff wasn't working for me.

Well, next season gives me a great opportunity to wear my yellow/blue Sambas more often for away days, because I am not touching the new away kit in those colors.

Same here. I thought our cuffs on the 2010/11 home kit were oversized, but those were just ridiculous last night.

They were almost big enough to pass as sleeves.

I will help the club and buy a new kit if Van Persie signs a long term deal. His picture is back front and center in the store.

I won't buy anything purple though.

I don't know ... looks kind of awkward to wear. How do you put it on?

What's the expression about "pouring" oneself into an article of clothing? I think it fits here. :D

I'm sure it makes bathroom breaks much easier. Maybe Jens helped design it.
