It was an honest question. And more pictures available here: http://www.ultimatesoccerarenas.com/photos.html Good value on tickets there, though. http://www.buckssoccer.com/home/629040.html Wonder if any Fire fans will be making the trip to snap up some of those only 2,000 tickets available.
One day, growth and reform might turn the US Open Cup into soccer's "May Madness" - where upsets abound and everyone tunes in to see the Fresno Los Muck-a-mucks top the New York Red Bulls like it's mating season. Until then...FIFA style maneuvering is pre-eminent! Some teams roll the dice, others sit back. Petitioner, you may now KISS HERR BLATTER'S RING!
I wonder if the Galaxy will bring Beckham to Carolina. If they do, will that make this game a huge deal?
All I care about is one thing: can I watch some games? Will anyone be keeping track of available streams? Is it too much to hope for some next week? ------RM
http://www.ussoccer.com/News/Lamar-...-Cup-Pairings-for-Fourth-Round-Announced.aspx 4th round pairing have been announced by US Soccer Looks like Portland, Seattle, and RSL mostly have home games, so there won't be anything to sell next week. Unless RSL wants to buy a home game from San Jose. That seems unlikely though. Colorado is on the road too, so nothing to sell there either.
I agree with this, and I'm not terribly bothered by lower division teams' selling their home game. But I'm amused as hell as how precious the Sounders are being about having to fly to Atlanta on May 29 when they don't have a league game until June 16. Yeah, it's not a short flight, but it's not as if they're playing an unbalanced schedule with almost all of their geographically closest rivals in the other conference.
So an interesting aside to this discussion. Rapids Media Director David Lindholm appears to be as disappointed as some posters here at the news that teams can buy home field advantage from other teams for the USOC, at least according to his tweets today (@Lindholmes). BTW, the Rapids have been drawn on the road for an 11th straight time in today's 4th Round draw. Odds of that are .05%. I knew Haig would want that info.
Are you equally amused that RSL now doesn't have to fly all the way to Minnesota when their next league game also isn't until June 16, or is this just a "I don't like the Sounders" thing?
But only because if he had known that was a possibility, he would have bid for the game and then sold it to the lower division team that the Rapids would face in the third round.
No, I'm just amused by the spin being put forth: Like I said, as a fan of a team who has to make lots of trips out to Seattle, Vancouver, Portland, LA, and San Jose, while very few to the three teams that are actually in our time zone, I'm not terribly sympathetic on the travel complaints.
http://twitpic.com/9ob9sx The Atlanta Silverbacks had already advertised the game to their fans last saturday.
You are aware that Sounder At Heart is just a blog, right, and that a significant number of Sounders fans are annoyed by the team buying out the Silverbacks home rights, including the leadership of Seattle's largest SG.
Well that's a fail on their FO. Maybe their ticket sales weren't going very well and Seattle offered compensation that would exceed the money they would have received from hosting the game. It's also useless to get mad at teams for playing by the rules. The real people we should be mad at is the ones that made the rules.
I'm pretty familiar with the concept of a blog, and I suspect that for all the "significant number of Sounders fans" who are "annoyed," there'll be at least as many who are comfortable with the purchase of the game and with that justification.
