Well, all I can say is that we typically do well in Chicago. Maybe this team can find it's backbone against an old foe.

    Chicago-Portland *SPOILER*:

If they can find a way to lose to Portland (Logan Pause own goal), they can surely find a way to tie us, right? 1-1.

If Castillo is recovered I would like to see Leyva get a run at the "AM", where Jacobson played Saturday. Several times Jacobson was just not fast enough to get to some of the linking play we created on the wings, not really his fault as that's just not part of his game. Hedges was good enough to start so Pertuz and heal and Ugo to recover.

    ----------------Hartman----------------
    ------Loyd--John--Hedges--JB------
    Jax--DH/Marcalin--Jacobson--Castillo
    -------------------Leyva-------------------
    -------------------Perez-------------------

This is it. This is the big one. The original MLS rivalry.

You know that the buy one get one free got change for a quarter crack whores who compose the fans of the Shitcago Fire will gather together in the projects, get in thier shopping carts filled with cans, and roll on over to the Bridgeview Municipal Dump. It is a bit of luck, I suppose, that Texas will not have to suffer them. The annual spike in crime rates that accompanies the visit of the Fire will be happily avoided.

The Brimstone Cup is, in reality, the only prize FCD can hope to capture. This is the exact right time to pull together, pick themselves up, and just fcuking win! Delenda est Chicago! Scorched Earth! SCORCHED EARTH!

Prove me wrong, Hyndman. Lead your team to victory.

    Dead but dreaming,
    Scipio Diabolus,
    vox fatum.

    Contra.

    Forever in horns.

You're the first one to voice what angered me so much after the game. Three defensive mids and play Leyva out of position? It will be no where near as easy to catch other teams this year because there are only four possible slots in the west. This team needs wins and points and to get that they need to score goals. Marcelin is a big body. That's it. If SH starts three defensive mids again he is playing not to lose when they need wins.

As Scipio pointed out, (like Houston) this is our only meeting with Chicago all year. So the winner takes the cup. If we tie, we'd (I should say "they'd") have to hope for a MLS Cup Final (ha) or USOC match to determine the winner. Otherwise we'd keep it since we're the holder.

When has he ever done otherwise with DF10 and now Villar out? We have been playing for ties all season, hoping for goals on the counter as opposed to maintaining attacking possession. Even when getting fortunate to go ahead in games, our approach has doomed us to bunkering with the ball in our defensive 3rd until the opponent finally ties or even puts away 2 to beat us. The vast majority of our victories have come from being tied late in games and scoring last-minute goals....shocker, that's not sustainable.

Wow, gameday and only 7 replies to this thread. I remember the days we had to bat away the Shitcago fans from running over to our boards to talk smack. Kinda sad, but I guess no one can get excited about either team right now....maybe with good reason.

Just saw in the paper the team is in a seven game winless streak which is the team's second worse ever. Also, up to nine players out with suspensions and injuries. I thinka lot of fans are shell shocked. This was to be the year FCD returned to greatness not returned to Southlake.

It is hard to be optimistic, nothing is going right. There is an injury after almost every game. They average 1 red card per 4 yellow cards and for every 1.5 games they play someone gets suspended. No one was disciplined last game and that could mean bad news for this game if the numbers hold true.
Thank goodness Toronto has until July to get their first win before visiting Frisco. That's how bad it looks.

This one is easy to predict: 1-1 and it will suck life out of anyone that witnesses it.
MLS in general has sucked this year.

Haha. I'm only slightly superstitious, so I'll counter the jinx and bet on Toronto going winless until July.

I don't know why I am optimistic but I'll say 1-0 FCD. It will be ugly but we will get one early and hold on for dear life...hopefully.
