Matt Clark's signature is still "You should've stayed at a real club" or words to that effect. As the kids say, LOL.
I am just so happy https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/...c-v-chelsea-fc-r.1929776/page-9#post-25496377 Just goes to show if you dream hard enough, the icing on the icing on the cake is that the Arse now have to qualify..
Indeed. I would have scoffed had someone told me 10 months ago that this Chelsea side would win the Champions League. I would have burst out laughing had they said we'd do it by besting Barca over two legs and then beating Bayern at home with Kalou (!) and Bertrand (!!) as our starting wingers. What a ridiculous and remarkable run.
August 23, 2011 Harry Redknapp- "Juan Mata joined Chelsea for the wages instead of joining us" no Harry he joined us to win trophies and play Champions League Football
CHAMPIONS!!!!!!! We're the ********ing champions of europe! Dr. I, Andy, and any other Londoner I'm forgetting, please take some photos so that we may be a part of the parade. I love this club, and despite the bleak roller coaster of a final, I always knew, well before that we were winning. Congratulations to you all, to us all, we deserve it. Ps- I'm not wearing anything non Chelsea FC for a week!
Just amazing!!! so proud of CFC and their fighting spirit throughout the tourney. Champions at last!!! that did happen, right??
Dec 6 - CFC was on the brink of elimination and won 3-0 vs Valencia (2 from Drogs that night) . Don't forget Genk drawing with Leverkusen, which allowed us to win the group. The Napoli comeback Benfica was no cakewalk... The tie was not over until Meireles' end to end goal Barca - So many shots off the bar. Messi misses a pk the final... It was simply meant to be. What a cup run!
Just remember this little fact. Chelsea has never lost to a German club in the knock-out round of any European competition, still hasn't, including two finals. 1965-66 Fairs Cup QF vs Munich 1860 1997-98 CWC Final vs Stuttgart 2003-04 CL 2nd round vs Stuttgart 2004-05 CL QF vs Bayern Munich 2011-12 CF Final vs Bayern Munich German opponents are our lucky mascots...
Fernando Torres has told Sky Sports' Spanish expert Guillem Balague he is considering his future at Chelsea after his Champions League final snub. The striker helped dump Barcelona out in the semi-finals but was named only on the bench in Munich, with Didier Drogba instead the inspiration for the Blues' penalty shootout triumph. The £50m man was an unused substitute in the Blues' FA Cup final win over Liverpool and admitted he wants showdown talks with the club's hierarchy. "It's contradictory because I feel like I'm at a peak moment in my career, with more desire and hunger than I've felt in a long time but I had to spend the final on the bench," Torres told Balague in an interview with as.com. "It was a great disappointment when I saw the line-up, perhaps the greatest of my life. "This season I have felt things I had not felt before. I felt that I was treated in a way that I did not expect, not the way they talked when I joined this club. "We will talk about my future because what I've experienced this year is not a role for me, nor is it the one I expected to play when I came here. I'm not comfortable. "A victory like in Munich makes up for it, but I need the club to tell me what is going to happen and what sort of role I will have within the team and then judge whether it is worth it." http://twitter.com/#!/guillembalague
If he can't see that a) he is massively loved here, and b) that his own performances are why he's not the first choice, then I feel for his ego.
Congrats to the boys, the old guards Lamps, Drogs, JT (even if he didnt play), Ashley Cole they all deserved it. Chelsea legends no doubt. That said, yesterday made me realize that I'm Bayern through and true. This hurt bad, worst than '10. This is a bitter pill to swallow. Enjoy it boyos. History remembers who won the big game, not how it was won. Credit to RDM.
You know, it's funny, Inter deployed similar tactics against Bayern two years ago, and they didn't get derided for it. But man, after Huth on the wing, that Garcia "goal", Messi over exaggerating that foul, Pool penalties, Ovrebo, and some other craziness, this feels ********ing awesome. I only wish I was still dating that girl whose dad was a Spurs fan, just because of the hilarity. ******** the haters, we're the European champions.
IMHO that was the problem w/ El Nino at CFC. He needs to understand that he isn't the man. He is a Man among Men. There is a time & a place. I know he feels that he is the man that we need to rely on, but he said it himself CFC is a bigger club than Liverfools. I just hope this lights a fire under him & he starts the next season burning the back of the nets. BTW where is that one fake red scouser that was talkin' soo much shit about us when Torres came over? I know most of those dirty red scousers were bayscum fans yesterday. Must feel good for them today
Skye's Jim White tweeted Chelsea had to forfeit parade because the bus was still parked in front of Bayern's goal. I thought that was pretty funny.
