I don't think was on that. He's on Fairly Legal, which is on USA. Never seen it - I just saw references to his situation in some of the other stuff I posted about HIMYM and had to Google this.
It looks like it actually averaged 4.5 million viewers in the first season which is pretty damn good for a show on USA. The second season just started last week.
If that's the case then this show is making less sense than Lost. FFS, the Ted voice calls her "Aunt Robin" all the time when talking to the future kids sitting on the couch.
I hated that it was Robin, but guessed it when Barney got engaged. Not sure it isn't Victoria, interviews with the writers earlier this year said they had not decided if it would be a new character or an old one. I hope it isn't Victoria at this point. After Robin's speach about unattainable woman, Ted grabs one who is running from her marriage? Still not sure Robin and Barney get married either, Robin wanted to talk to Ted about something, cold feet maybe?
It was pretty clear they are at Barney's wedding (Barney's wedding has been a frequent flash forward point for the last couple of seasons). The bride would never ask to see the groom, anyway, and Ted is the de facto maid of honor. AND there's a parallel in this episode where Ted is the confidante to an ex who's marrying someone else in the present and the future. PLUS the producer specifically said it's not Robin though it should've been Robin. Oh, and the actress who plays Quinn is getting her own show, I think.
My fault. I interpreted the post to which I was responding as claiming that Ted was marrying Robin. Barney marrying her makes sense.
i think victoria is the best one but I assume it's not her as the episode where he was in his future wife's apartment, say her ankle, etc. .... victoria was in germany. and as far as we know, doesn't play the bass or make funny artwork, etc. i think it's pretty much 100 percent clear it's not victoria (though she's my favorite)
yeah sorry. the big reveal was who barney's bride is. that's what that was referring to. I can see how my post was confusing.
It has been explicitly said that Ted meets the mother at Barney's wedding, and she was in the class where he mistakenly started teaching. It can't be Victoria. I was pretty sure the bride would be Robin and think it's a cop-out, but will continue to put up with the misdirections for the shit which makes me laugh.
To be fair, that's exactly why a lot of people, including I, watched the end of the first season of The Killing.
BTW, nothing has dissuaded me from Betting a grand on the "the mother is Barney's yet unseen half-sister" theory, in case any casino is taking action.
he has a half sister? why do I not remember hearing about this? is this lithgow's daughter or something? crazy jerry?
Yes - Carly was away at college in the city when Barney visited in the "Legendaddy" episode last year. I don't know if Carter Bays or anyone else addressed it, but it's discussed quite a bit in the chattersphere. It doesn't contradict the other hints dropped so far, and it would make Barney and Robin literally uncle and aunt to Ted's children.
Yep, a new show on Fox created by Bays. I've like her on HIMYM an she was really good on Ugly Betty. - I don't know why people are surprised Robin and Barney are getting married. Everyone he's dated since her has made him become a better man and that's what was needed to realistically make Barney and Robin work as a long term couple.
I wish it would just die. Nowadays I watch the show almost completely out of loyalty to the characters - aside from the odd good episode here and there, the show has been mostly dreck since early in the 4th season. Ten years from now, we are all going to look back and wonder how we ever endured this rubbish for so long after the show ceased being watchable. Kind of like how we view Friends now.
I've stated several times that once I'm in on a show, I'm in until the end. My comment was kinda sorta one of those joke things though it continued the theme of earlier thoughts and posts in this thread. I'm still betting on this:
I thought it was a decent finale, no big surprises... however, I wasn't expecting Victoria to show up, in a wedding dress, ready to drop everything for Ted.....
And the half-sister is the only one at this point who (possibly) was in Ted's class. That's a big sticking point for me. None of the other women he's dated since then have been mentioned as having been in it and considering how much Ted likes talking about architecture and his class, I think it would have been mentioned if he recognized a girl from it. Plus, Ted is pervy enough to be the guy who would recognize any cute girl who ever took his class.
Note that the "mother" was in the Econ class that Ted accidentally went to on his first day. Plus, they made such a big deal out of how that chance meeting with Stella led up to the meeting, complete with the yellow umbrella and all.
I remember that theory being thrown out there after that ep and your last point makes it all the more interesting.
