Indeed. It's as if they have Das Wunder von Bern seared in their minds starting at youth football.

I saw them and all of the blog posts that featured them. It's Boston. It didn't surprise me at all that people would be so stupid that their face and name was prominently featured next to racist comments.

It's in their DNA, as is their direct style of play. Angriff! :D

Yeah, and the innate ability to not let the actual flow of the game or momentum and their chasing it hinder their belief in winning. They seem to reinforce belief by chasing the game. Real Madrid went up 2-0 and I thought now the Germans have them where they want them.

Surely NO! Racism is only in the South. Yankees are all civil rights and equality and kum-ba-ya and stuff.

Watching it after about the 80th minute I felt like Jose was glad to wait for penalties, and wondered why in the world you would do that against a German team...

A lot of his tactics were confusing. Maybe Real was just worn out from the Classico and finally beating Barca. I don't know and I can't/don't want to crawl into Mori's brain (I think it's crazy in there). I don't understand how Higuain, a fresh forward, didn't get a penalty and Sergio Ramos did.

BTW, anybody watch the Barc/Real classico at Lucky Bar? What a crowd inside. Bartender was good and the antics were reasonable. Been a while since the glory days at Summers for me.

I haven't been a regular at Lucky Bar in seven or eight years. I do remember that the crowds were so huge for the Barca/Real games (and apparently didn't tip worth a damn) that the wait staff there dreaded that match, and complained about it, more than any other.

I told myself I wasn't going to watch the NFL Draft. Then I realized I'm watching the NFL Network online at nfl.com as well as ESPN via watch espn. Damn NFL.

He made good with me. Guess he like how three of us were behaving and gave us shooter. Damn if it didn't smell and taste (as I imagined) like the bathroom cleaner for bars. Couldn't get past it. So he offered a nice shot of Jamison's instead. What the hell, I"m Irish in a Welch bar that sports a sign that they don't hire Irishmen.

Well Henry just wrecked his hamstring. TV saying it's a "strain" but he can't even take a step by himself.

It's hard to believe that any MLS team is more dysfunctional than Toronto, although perhaps NY would be worth considering. I can't recall ever seeing a coach so badly out of his element since, well, since John Carver. I fear that at some point they're going to have to fire him and put Mariner, an actual soccer coach, in his place. Thankfully TFC got rid of all their talent so it'll take some time to build.

PS. Aron Winter is yet another notch on the success chart of Juergen Klinsmann.

I'm watching the metrobulls-NE match and it makes me sick hearing them sing the Vamos United song. I know we didn't originate a lot of our songs but at least it makes sense for us to sing certain songs. Also, I can't believe redstars couldn't get a DeRo Henry partnership to work.

Random post...but there were some hilarious twitter posts from the "soccer sucks" crowd on the Man U-Man City match being shown on ESPN today.

    A few of them:

i just saw soccer on espn, um wtf? they need their own channel for soccer called like they gay channel or something #ballsohard

I am watching soccer on regular white people espn and there are ********ing Spanish commercials... Welcome to America

Why is english soccer on espn?? #**********Shit #PutARealSportOn

why the hell is soccer on espn. #grassfaries

    Plenty more: http://deadspin.com/5906430/id-rath...d-other-complaints-about-soccer-being-on-espn

    Particularly loved "#grassfairies"! LOL.

    Get used to it, guys.

Personally, I like the fact that the proliferation of sports channels has given people a chance to watch different sports that weren't available a few years ago.

Not just soccer, but sports like rugby and lacrosse. As well as minor league sports.

They're so creative they can only be heard in the 8th minute doing whatever is organized via twitter.

I would love to win the MLS cup and all but god I would hate to pay with that hideous silver ball. Maybe it bothers me too much but it makes the ball look hard as a rock and just makes the play look worse to me, I dont know why.

Something about this match makes it stand out. It never bothered me until tonight. Strange.

Caps, Nats and United. Great day for DC sports.
