Red nose giving his opinion on the de Jong tackle. Didn't look too bad IMO.

I had an uncle who had a problem with it back in the day so it's something I've never done. It's OK if you're a certain sort and can walk away when you lose. I just thought it was easier not to start.

    YMMV

Still only one goal in it.

Indeed. I know someone in a not dissimilar situation and it's so hard to fathom sometimes. Then again, I'm addicted to little white sticks that may one day kill me, so...

I missed ten minutes at the start of the second... has Hart had to do anything??

Should've been 3 or 4 if only City didn't try to walk it in.

Of course, there's still another few games. Listening to some people you'd think they had forgotten that.

Here's hoping for a last day stormer where both sides are just trying to score as many as possible! It's never gonna beat Arsenal 89 of course, but I do like a good finish.

The barcodes away won't be easy.
The league needs things still up in the air going into the last game to my mind.

Hart comes across well. Of course, no surprise from a Shrewsbury boy ;)

Like I said, this isn't a particularly good yanited side for me. Too many rather ordinary players and old men. Mind you, I can talk regarding the last one :D

I think the chances are high of Man City putting 10 past QPR a la Chelsea 09/10 against Wigan style to win the title.

City deserve this, if they do go on to win it. Even in 09/10 we had a rough period and we were underdogs going into the match against Man Utd at Old Trafford, but we put in the performances when it counted and so have City. (Still remember that match, had to be completely silent so I wouldn't wake up my whole dorm floor. The memories...) But you can't overlook the choke job that United had. Up 4-2 with 10 minutes left to pretty much wrap up the title and they choke.

based on the responses I would say that you are not in the minority and while I agree with pete that I want the players to have fun and enjoy themselves I also want them to do so with class and dignity

I would add that 20 years ago- Alves would have been cut in half the next time he crossed the halfway line. Lots of respect to Puyol for that- well done.

    mentioned them a while back

Villa look a good bet imo

possibly a bullet dodged for us

still plenty of time for the lad but he really needs to settle in one role

funny enough I could see Newcastle getting a result in that fixture

seems to the consensus from the majority of Utd fans.

Why wasn't Young on from the start? I thought he'd done well for you fellas.

But I think the truth is, as I said before, that you fellas need some fresh blood. The idea of playing Giggs and Scholes, almost REGARDLESS of how good they were, doesn't seem right somehow. Having said that I don't think they were the problem today as much just the overall team performance.

Also like I said before, I like the idea of a new winner for the EPL. It gets bloody boring otherwise. We'll end up like some dipshit league with only 2/3 teams, i.e. like some southern European leagues I could mention ;)

Like I said, I missed it. What did he do, precisely?
One of the problems of these 'multi-position' players. They never develop their game well enough in ONE of them to be top-class.

I thought he was a CB?!

Video on previous page. He and Thiago do a ridiculous little dance after like the 6th or 7th goal against RV; the kind of thing Coach Carter wouldn't stand for.

We saw the same with Mancienne-jack of all trades, master of none.

Shame because I thought he could have been a decent RB but he never got enough games in one role to develop.

reminds me of a Lower League game I saw quite a few years ago

this little winger was turning his opposing fullback inside out and while it was fun to watch the winger decided to take the piss up 3-0 and meg the fulback and beat both CDs but of course- missed his shot wide of the post

the next time he got the ball the large and quite committed CD came through with a tackle which led to the aforementioned winger sharing the same seat as the old dear in row 2

needless to say by the time the winger returned to the pitch he suddenly became a pass first player and didnt take more than two touches for the rest of the game

the best part of this story- the CD wasnt even booked

    :D

Forget Young...The most annoying thing was that we decided to bench our biggest threat Valencia on the bench....We lost the game because we were overrun....Fergie can come out and say all he wants about being there to win but come on,even a 10 year old could tell what we were trying to get out of the game....

For far too long we have relied on the oldies....After the game the one person I really felt sorry for was Carrick.....He's class and showed that yesterday and to me was by far the best player on the pitch....For far too long Carrick has had to deal with the constant chopping and changing and yet adapts and delivers.....Coming to this game, the problem squarely lies on the team selection....The Park selection was infuriating..Why would you start someone who hasn't played for us for more than a month (I think) ahead of someone like say a Cleverley....If you take a look at our match thread, the moment we saw the line up,it was a collective groan from most of us....

Having a 'Yes' man as your No.2 doesn't help either....Doing mistakes is fine...But making the same mistakes again and again and expecting a different result is naivety.....I still think we are just 3 quality signings away from a great squad....a CM (someone who can play alongside Carrick), another attacking outlet (someone like Hazard), a left back (competition for Evra)...

Obviously this is not a sentiment I share..:)...I had be fine with fighting you guys for the top prize....I would never want City to be winning titles..Never....

Just saw the game and yes, City thoroughly deserved it. However, I still think United win the league.

The premier league has had the same amount of different league winners over the pas decade as La Liga. ;)
