I thought the same thing, then i realized that our jerseys were probably not fitted to the player, as the number they wore was the number of their starting position. (and a few of those changed between the France and Slovenia games) So I think they will look a lot better when they are actually the correct size for the player. For example, did you see Shea's jersey vs. France? It was so loose it was hanging off of him.

Nah, every Nike-outfitted team at the 2010 WC had the same floppy, loose, hanging-off-the-body jerseys. It was the template for the actual fit for all the Nike shirts that year, and it was horrible. The current France jersey was released after 2010 (actually, it's the first of the Nike shirts for France), and it is a MUCH better overall fit.

We have currently 3 jerseys with the same exact template, and the same exact fit. I'm hoping our qualifying shirts (released Jan or Feb 2012) will adhere more to the fits of the current France and Brazil shirts. Ie, so we don't look like 11 guys wearing fabric barrels.

Some of you enjoy talking more about "jersey's" than you do about the play of the team.

Do you come onto this forum just to complain about other people's posts in every thread you don't agree with? Because that's sure what it seems like. Don't take other people's opinions so personally.

And the plural of "jersey" is spelled "jerseys", by the way.

    I don't take anything personally.
And no, the plural of jerseys is jersies, or however I choose to spell it.

How is this thread 39 pages long? When do the new kits come out was the question and 39 pages later we do or we don't have the answer to that?

i actually have the usa authentic and replica jersey, the replica does feel loose but the authentic has a very slim fit so i assume shea likes to wear his jersey loose

Don't know what to think. Will wait to see it on the field before judging.

awful...ugly and again, we change looks completely. we really need to get rid of Nike. it seems we are determined to go through every "soccer jersey style" in the book instead of establishing a consistent theme. awful.

    Re: New USA Kits

I think I might love it. It's such a simple yet effective idea. Completely reflects the flag. The ghost sash is so minimal and faint that I think we'll hardly see it unless you're a foot in front of it. I hope they pair this with navy blue shorts. Hooped socks would be the kicker!

For the alt, I hope that they don't wimp out and give us a white shirt. Ideally, I'd want a navy blue shirt, sans horizontal striping, but with a sash. White shorts. It would be fantastic if both of our kits featured such strong amounts of color, instead of all white that we've been doing the last 2-3 years or so.

I think this would be sweet:
    Red and white hooped jersey
    Navy blue shorts
    Red and white hooped socks

    Alt:
    Navy jersey with red sash
    White shorts
    Navy and red hooped socks

I agree, I want to see it...but now I wonder what the second and third jersey is going to look like. I will say this, with some of the scary jersey's I have seen so far in this thread, this one could be a lot worse.

It'll ultimately be more expensive than normal, since if you don't get a player's name/number on the back you'll instead have a huge, square white space on your back. That's the drawback of stripes.

    Ugh.

Hahahaha. thought the same thing. It would only be better if we used this as our crest.

    Re: New USA Kits

Doubtful. For one, that leaked photo is a player issue shirt as you can see from the screened on logos and ventilation holes. Typically they don't break up the stripes for replicas. Portugal's away shirt from the WC had a massive stripe down the middle but replica's didn't have a break in the stripe. IIRC Croatia replicas do not have a break either. I'm sure our replicas will have full stripes.

Maybe so -- if you're right then I might consider getting one. However, my 2006 navy shirt (with the horizontal stripe) sure has a big blank spot in the middle where the number would have normally gone.

Would be pretty good if all remnants of the sash were gone. That was kind of cool for facing England again in the World Cup, but I don't want it as the U.S. "identity."

Confed Cup shirt is still my favorite.

    Re: New USA Kits

I like this kit. I like it better than most of our kits in the last 10 years. It also has 13 stripes, like the American flag.

However, I do agree that we should create a consistent look. I doubt Nike is trying to convince Brazil to change so often and completely abandon the yellow top and blue shorts.

But if we're gonna be the Oregon Ducks of the soccer world, I'm on board with this version.
