    Jeff, Sean -
We need to print up a quarter size sheet with chants and a blurb about the section and pass them around the fringes of the section. We don't have to include all chants but should put the words to the ones that are more wordy (obviously don't need to put Ole, ole, ole...) and that we do most often. Also include facebook, twitter and bigsoccer information. The top and west end of the Cauldron are fairly quiet, and we have a lot of new people who are coming to a lot of games. I've overheard many people at games saying "what are those words???"

If someone wants to format the chants that we want to include I can print and cut them up by the next home game on the 23rd. I'd just need some help carrying them in and passing them around.

M9 had a mixed bunch last night. The teen girl next to me sat and texted all night, but quietly mumbled every chant, so she's attended a lot of games. Two guys in the first row wore wrestling masks the entire game and were loud (without swearing) to the Chivas guys warming up in the corner. The best were the two guys directly in front of me. One was wearing a 2011 Royals STH cap and the other had a 2010 Royals STH cap. Assuming that they were indeed STHs and I do not wish the Royals to fail, I thought it was cool that they chose Sporting over the Royals.

I was out there specifically because of the handsitters. I was with my daughter at her first game and wanted us to have a quieter time where I could sit with her if needed. I don't think flyers and the like will work on the people surrounding me ... they were out there for similar reasons I was. The age demographic shifted upwards, there were other people with babies and toddlers and people nursing beers and hotdogs baseball style.

In same instances it may even make the reconsider coming back. We are after all the cheapest ticket in the house, and we are going to get folk that don't get it - or as in my case last night, really didn't want to.

That said people did participate, a lot just sitting down and doing so. The BIG chants did catch on but I think that is just going to be the way it is. I think we should focus on growing the core group and eventually maybe we'll simply squeeze those folk into other areas via ticket sales. You gotta remember a big chunk of the section is given away each game so ...

    The heat did suck.

As a side my 22 month old girl was clapping along more than I was and would cajole me to clap when I wasn't. I was so proud :D

My 7 year old loves getting there early enough to grab a flag, which she uses to beat on the benches most of the game. She usually gets a few people to cheer with her just by being cute... There's gotta be a way to get some of the kids together and see if they can help cheers along. Cuteness goes a long way.

Today is the day Madden '12 came out. I am playing with the Chiefs. I just broke a long touchdown with Jamal Charles and Gus Johnson (both black) said: "He's got runnin' from the cops speed."

Just thought I'd search out this thread and bring that up. Black on black can't be racist, right??? :)

Seeing as Gus Johnson is the Jesus of PBP guys, it's PC from now on, he spoke, let it be done.

I sat on the East Side, right at the midfield line, on Monday.

The Cauldron sounded great from there. It was my first game sitting somewhere else. The "FU Ref" chant came thru loud and clear. I looked around to see if anyone was offended. While I'm sure a few folks were, most of the people around me were chuckling, because everyone in the attendance was thinking it.

Hey guys, whatever happened to the Player of the Month presentation we used to do? July 2010 appears to be the last month for which an award was given.

Actually, we did it every month last season. The only answer I can offer up is that I was the driving force behind the MOTM scarf presentation for the last 5 or 6 seasons (since it was resurrected), and since I am not in the Cauldron anymore, and Sean & Jeff have been swamped with other Cauldron coordination work, it looks like it fell by the wayside. That plus the long road trip up front kind of took peoples minds off of it, I know it pretty much slipped my mind.

It's unfortunate, could have been nice with the inaugural season in LSP.

SKC v. RSL, 4/14/12. Moving the Cauldron tailgate indoors?

It definitely is a tradition that accidentally got left by the wayside. If you want to help the Cauldron resurrect it, that'd be cool. Just a matter of planning more than money probably.

Yes the tailgate is inside, though it doesn't look like any deals will be happening to make it any cheaper. We're going to try to run through some pre-game songs inside, so should be fun either way.

    My friends and I liked the chant that sounded like: Ooooo O' - O' Ooooo O' - O' Ooooo S K C !!! [repeated].

What is it? I hope we keep it around for our next home game. One of those chants that grows on you and you dont know what it is.

We sounded great! I don't know about the rest of you, but my voice is absolutely wrecked after last night's match. I'm loving some of the new chants/songs. Keep 'em coming! It's nice to be able to switch it up and keep it fresh instead of "We Love Ya" over and over and over.

It's funny you should mention this....Bobby & I had a short discussion last night during the match about possibly resurrecting this tradition. We should talk.

Did anyone get a look inside the new bus? Any pics? Thoughts? Will it be delivering people to the Park, or just an alcohol delivery machine?

There are currently no seats in it other than the drivers seat. I know they have some big plans but I'll let people more in the know explain

Did the Cauldron finally buy a bus? If so, cool.

From my understanding it is a tailgate support vehicle. With all of the t-shirts, scarves, tables, food, grills, kegs, ice, tubs, tents and banners it was getting to be more troublesome then the worth to have it spread out amongst 2-3 SUVs or 4-5 cars to transport to he game. Plus when it is parked parallel to the curb it provides that extra bit of shade and wind block. That really was my favorite part about having it on Tuesday.

If it was good on Tuesday, it should be great tomorrow.

Ha, thats like me saying my fav thing about my girlfriend's dog (small Yorkie) is that it doesnt bark. Way to go bus!

But in all seriousness, that is a added benefit in most all weather conditions.

Anyone know who brought the music to the USOC Final? (Hector maybe?) That was lots of awesome. It would be great if we had that in Lot F more often.

Maybe you've seen it on Twitter, but Bike MS and The Cauldron was fantastic this weekend. First, over $5,000 was raised by The Cauldron and the riders for the Mid America chapter of the National MS Society. Very cool.

I was impressed by how many other riders in the event recognized the Cauldron name that we had on our jerseys. I had numerous people ask me about SKC and the Cauldron. A big thanks to Jason Buck for getting these jerseys designed and ordered. I know I am biased, but these were the best jerseys on the ride. I got a multiple comments on how good they looked.

As always, the best part of these things are the people one meets. I rode 150 miles with a friend from work that attends a few games and KCFutbol from BS. I was so tired the afternoon I arrived that I could barely unpack my stuff in the campground, but Kyle and Chris were kind and helped me get my tent assembled. Sean and the bus were there too.

I really hope we do this again in 2013. Don't miss it.

Here's a pic of just about the last 3 guys to cross the finish line late Sunday afternoon. I'm on the right and KCFutbol is in the middle.
