Chelsea/Madrid would be awesome. Barca/Madrid, not bad either.

If Chelsea win the CL(I know that would happen) and finish 5th in the Prem, will there be 5 English teams in the CL next year?

No. 4th place would miss out if that happens.

Arsenal and Spurs should be beware of that, it should be a race to third anyway with the automatic qualifying and playing qualifying stages difference between them.

    I'm with you.

    Underdogs - check.

If they manage it after the whole AVB thing, and do it whilst returning to the old guard I actually think it would be a nice story. I may be alone in this one.

Importantly, they're far enough behind United domestically right now that I'm not feeling that they're much of a rival club at all.

Bayern in the other, purely on the basis of them being the underdogs. The semis are probably going to be more interesting to me than the final.

Here's how Chelsea may have a chance:

-Real Madrid losing points against Valencia and/or Atletico
-Barcelona taking care of business in their next 2 games.

Then, Barcelona is going to have 4 tough games in 10 games with Levante and Madrid in between games against Chelsea:

    Apr 14 - Levante (a)
    Apr 18 - Chelsea (a)
    Apr 22 - Real Madrid (h)
    Apr 24 - Chelsea (h)

If Barcelona doesn't cut into Madrid's lead in the next 2 games, in all likelihood they'd concentrate on CL and then Chelsea has no chance.

I haven't watched much of Bayern this season. What are their chances against Madrid? I know they have had a pretty potent offense at times but does anyone think their defense can cope with CR7, Benz, and the rest?

Also, how has Neuer done since moving there? I know Bayern fans we're pretty pissed at him joining the club for whatever reason. I thought I remembered him having a shaky start with them too.

Bayern are in good form but they still are off from being a top tier team for me because they aren't tactically flexible like Madrid of Barcelona. But still, anything can happen, nobody can rule that out.

Madrid's defense can be exploited but Mourinho should be smart because it's not hard to isolate Gomez and thus cut off all supply if guys Slomka, Favre and Klopp have all done the same already.

I think we will see a lot of goals in this match-up.

    lol
