From a kid who scored 2 goals, got punched in the face, came off to change his blood soaked jersy and returned and kept running and fighting to the very end.

    U.S. forward TERRENCE BOYD
On the team’s play following the loss to El Salvador:
“For us, it’s a nightmare right now because we’re the team that had the most quality in CONCACAF, in my opinion. It’s just a bad day for us, but we have to keep going. I’m proud of my team, and for the first time I really felt what it’s like to fight for your country.”

Awww yeahh buddy. We got a great forward in the making! Reminded me of McBride at times. Especially with the blood incident.

Preston Zimmerman, uber patriot, loves American soccer so much he's played zero professional matches here.

From his quotes, this kid is a star in the making. Grounded, proud, humble.

    Stick around kid. Stick around.

Excellent thread TheHoustonHoyaFan Zimmerman's head probably exploded when he saw Terrence Boyd play and probably said "NOOOO NOT ANOTHER FAKE AMERICAN!"

Speaking of the punch, FIFA has to come down on that El Salvadorean.

He throws a punch and gets no punishment? What the hell?

None of this had anything at all to do with zimmerman. nice try on stoking the fire...zimmerman has been scoring as well, albeit in a lower german league

Boyd is the truth. Hopefully he gets capped in a World Cup qualifier this summer.

    Who tweeted this
"I would just like to see true, real Americans who would live and die for this country representing our country"

Boyd born and raised in Germany, repping the US at the U23 level ultimately take a spot away from a "true american" in the college system who's just as talented as those in Germany (according to Zimmerman).

I would say Hoyos's thread is spot on in reference towards Zimmerman's tweets.

Yes live and die for the United States.

Preston Zimmerman surely knows about that, having risked his life for the US by playing in the lower divisions of German soccer.

Terrence Boyd wouldn't know anything about actually living and dying for the US.

does that matter? not really by the way, i have no problems with zimmerman like most of you do. he said some dumb stuff, but he's young. no reason to crucify him like everyone on here seems to want to do

If you look at the replay, you will see the Mexican ref looking directly at him handing out the punch and no call.......Then going nearly 6 minutes until they equalized...the entire game should be FIFA reviewed.

Concacrap is not going to do anything about it and some people said well the ref might have not seen it but at the 06 WC Final the ref didn't see Zidane headbutt Materazzi and he still got a red card. It is what it is and the players just have to fight through it, I'm glad Klinsmann got to see CONCACRAP officiating live so he can get ready for WCQ. I said it before and I will say it again CONCACRAP is disgusting!

The same guy bit multiple players in multiple games. The canadians even sent CONCACAF a report with a doctor report included after that game.

Boyd played with some passion that was Michael Bradley youth team esque

Tweets came out around December 28th 2011, so roughly 3 months ago. Given there hasn't been many opportunities for the "fake americans" to prove their worth i would say it's still relevant

I'm not going to get into this. If you want to bring up a tweet from a teenager months ago in order to make yourself feel vindicated, be my guest

LOL, I was simply stating the topic had relevance.

I was merely answering your question and then stating why the thread was started. I said my piece 3 months ago, but it was you who asked and you who posted this to begin with...

boyd scored a couple goals in a youth tournament that the US got knocked out of...some random kid playing in bundesliga 3 criticized dual nationals under Klinsmann a few months ago...wow, that is amazingly relevant, you are right

Boyd fits his description. Scores a couple of goals and one of a few who played with heart. His quotes after the game and the fact he met up with some of his dads family for the first time makes the tweets relevant as it was his first time to really prove himself.

But this was fun. Enjoy the rest of ur weekend
