You didn't have to pay for the whole season up front at the Rob. That's the main difference. There is no day-of-game cash parking in the Dynamo lots. And I very seldom paid to park at the Rob. One of the benefits of getting there 5 hours early.
between getting to the stadium 5 hours early and flashing my UH parking pass that expired in 2008, I made it through 6 years without paying once
I think that if you use an electric grill, that it should automatically disqualify you from the HEB Tailgater of the week award.
I think anyone who tries to plug in a heat-creating device into their car cigarette outlet is going to be disappointed. Any device designed to create heat is going to pull a lot of power and I think you are going to have a hard time running any sort of electric grill or even a popcorn popper unless you have a gas generator running it. Not that you shouldn't try. I'd just say you should test it out ahead of time instead of pinning your hopes on gameday.
You can do it without incident. HOWEVER, you just have to pay attention to the rating of your lighter, the inverter, and how much power the device needs. That is all. We do it all the time. For example, the mini formeman works just fine, however a blender is too much. They also sell Power packs on Amazon - which are portable inverter/battery combos in one. I AGREE TEST IT OUT!
As a two time HEB tailgater of the week, I feel I should remind you that Kroger is the official grocery this year. I'll miss HEB; I hate Kroger.
Kroger is actually pretty good - if you get a kroger card they give you discounts off gasoline at Kroger stores and shell stations. Every $100 spent gets you a 10c per gallon discount. I've got it made - I bank at BBVA Compass and shop at Kroger. Now if only we can get St. Arnolds and Specs to become official somethings it'll be complete. On second thoughts maybe not - I don't recycle.
If you own a food truck or know anybody that has a food truck...you'll make tons of cash. You'll probably need to figure out a way to serve extra amounts of customers during game days. I'm not even joking. In fact, I'm talking way too much when a simple image would suffice.
yup. this is what i was lobbying for from the get-go. most Mexican stadiums have this set-up. no tailgating in the US sense of the word, but mobile vendors. food is incredible! smells intoxicating! also need beer tubs in the stands. lol.
I think it would be cool to have food carts like they do in Portland - every kind of ethnic and kind of food you can imagine!
this is pretty much how most Championship and EPL sides do it. I always sampled the mushy peas. The ones outside Loftis Road had the best.
The Portland food truck variety is amazing. I believe I had Ethiopian. Now they just need to move this.... http://www.hautewheelshouston.com/ to St Emanuel & we're all set for opening day.
The last thing we need is for every food-obsessed hipster in the city cramming into St. Emanuel. Haute Wheels was a train wreck last year. 2nd annual will be a train wreck too.
I already made the The Waffle Bus aware of this and they are on it! I even asked them to dye the waffles Orange like they did the green ones for St.Patrick's day.
