US need a goal or will face the very real likelihood of facing Mexico in the semifinal in KC (should they beat El Salvador)
After a wonder start, the US looked craptacular for large stretches of the first half. They really need to pick it up in the second half or no Olympics.
Missed the first half, but not surprisingly the US forum make it sound like it is the end of the universe. Hope they are overreacting and the 2nd will be more better... I never cared much for the summer olympics anyway, but too bad we might not even see the home team at LSP next weekend.
I guess that Vermes will have to decide between Bunbury and Sapong more times than anyone expected this summer. I honestly thought to myself as soon as Shea failed to kick the ball to the other end of the field when he had the chance, "If El Salvador scores here, that is where the blame lies." Of course, it would have helped if Johnson had pushed the shot away from the goal, rather than back toward it . . .
There was plenty of blame to go around there, Shea for failing to send the ball into low earth orbit. The midfielders for going after a ball they shouldn't have. The defense for not closing the ball down. And Johnson for bobbling it. Overall the US didn't deserve to advance.
wow, terrible. so should porter be fired? it's pretty inexcusable to not even make the semi's when you're hosting the qualies. i reckon there'll be a ton of cheap tickets now for those games at lsp.
I imagine that you'll be able to buy as many tickets as you want for under $5 each right outside the stadium. Thank goodness I decided not to make the trip a few weeks ago.
