The Victory Suite made for a fun evening for this MC STH. The bartenders, servers, hostess, etc were all great. We had pizza, salad, sushi, a fancy dessert-thingy, Boulevard Pale Ale, Guinness and wine. Great view too. We spent most of our time at the bar on the upper level, versus the big padded seats. My wife and I had a a great time. A very nice perk for a second-year STH.
I sat there on Tuesday. There was wood-fired pizza, salads, desserts, and an assortment of ballpark fare (brats, hotdogs, etc.). I've heard others say they got sushi, but that wasn't an option when I was there. And as for drinks, they have pretty much anything you'd want: Stella, Guinness, Blue Moon on tap and a bunch of bottled beer -- plus top shelf liquor. It's open seating up there, so if you can claim one of the big comfy leather chairs (so long as you don't take one of the six reserved for the Livestrong honoree and their guests). There are also tables upstairs (inside) that overlook the action. Enjoy it while you're there. I don't want to go back to the cheap seats now. Really felt like it was an incredible "thank you" from the organization. I hope they bring it back for next year, but from what I've heard, they weren't necessarily prepared for the kind of demand for it that they got this year.
I know it's not Shield or Victory club, but I got a few Field Club tickets from a friend for the game against San Jose and ho-lee crap. From the sound of the Victory Suite, the dining options were pretty similar. It was pretty cool to see the players come out and the chairs were awesomely comfy. The only part that doesn't make me feel as down about sitting in the normal seats, is that I'm not a huge fan of sitting on the field. Couldn't really get a good feel for the game. Oh well, still awesome. I know I have some pictures around somewhere...
One of the best parts of the Victory Suite is the view of the field from up there is absolutely gorgeous. Definitely an awesome thank you from the owners.
I did not have a good time in the Shield Club tonight. We were looking forward to a cool place, but it was hot and stuffy. By the time we found a place to sit, game time was close. Some food not good at all. We had to carry our meal half-way around the stadium to our seats in order to see the game on the field.
This... Didn't know that it was access to the shield club... Got our upgrade and got to go in and buy food, la dee da. If we wanted to sit outside and actually enjoy the game we were told we would need to return to our regular seats. Ok, so you gave me access to nicer food and what? A/C? Thanks but no thanks... I like it better in 131...
Never understood the appeal of Shield Club myself. I am a mid-30's single guy with a very good income and no kids. I could reasonably drop the scratch for any season ticket in the house for me and the GF. But Shield Club seemed like a rip off, (plus you have to sit with people who aren't into the game) and Field Club and beyond were shrouded in "sold out" mystery. Cheapest seats in the house are still the best from what was presented to me. I can go to a top corner to get a good view, or sit behind the goal to get the on-the-field experience that LSP offers. Count me in for an easy renewal for the foreseeable future. But if my ever-changing customer service person were to offer something really fancy, I'd be interested in listening... (and to continue with my cool stories: east stand seems like a great value, if I had a family I'd consider it before south stand. good views, good feel for the game, but man... that sun would be killer for most of the season.)
That sun is why I would never consider the East Stand for a family spot, sticking a five year old in that heat will just lead to a miserable afternoon. The South Stand view is really a hell of a lot nicer than my present spot in the Members Stand, and the buy two adult, get two kids free season ticket packages are extremely attractive in terms of value. Just that atmosphere ... gotta admit though, when its 100f+ the ability to take a seat is mighty attractive.
Honestly, except for the 7:00 games, I've been ok with it, even though I generally hate heat. Though 7:00 games make it easier to take a kid who starts getting cranky at 9:30.... And could we all not boo when I take her to games? She hates that... I'll make sure to tweet about which games I bring her to so you can all be aware. Thanks, I appreciate it.
