Mad Props to the Blues Still buzzin after last nite's victory....I always believed this group could do it..Props to them: What was that saying about CFC has no history??? Well last nite they made history. Only the 4th club to over-turn a 2 goal aggregate deficit.
Re: Mad Props to the Blues I'm not real student of the history of the game, but is there a team in European history that has had as many drama filled nights in a 10 year stretch? 04: 87th min winner in derby QF 05: 4-2 reversal in R16, "Ghost-Goal" in SF 07: 90 min winner in QF, Shootout loss in SF 08: Late own goal, 3-2 AET in SF, Shootout loss in Final 09: 4-4 in QF, Iniesta goal in SF 12: 4-1 turnaround in R16 Some good, some bad (usually good followed by bad), but always heart wrenching.
Best case scenario for today's draw : CFC v. Apoel (QF) then CFC v. Marseilles/Benfica/Milan (SF) Worst case scenario for today's draw : CFC v. Barça/RM/Bayern (QF). No point in even mentioning the SF here because if we get through the QF then we'll have no fear and can win the damn thing !
Benfica v. Chelsea........definitely winnable then Chelsea v. Barça 'Bring em on', as somebody once said..........!!
going to be tough although I suspect they may suit us nicely they move the ball around very well but if we can play wisely and use the counter (where we are best imo) we may find a way to get past them
Benfica are no push-over having won Man U's group - I think it will be a tight one but I think the Blues will do it as they seem to be playing for each other and RDM now (they did not get on with AVB and were not playing for him seemingly they did not like his super-analytical ways). I would love to see Chelsea vs Barca - those games back in 2005 when Jose was manager are what endeared me to Chelsea in the first place - the never say die attitude which they had when JT scored and they came back to win 5-4 - awesome!!
No it is Man U who are push-over. They got knocked out in all competitions. They win the league outside the pitch.
