    Agreed.

Besides anything that's hated by so many BigSoccer posters can't be that bad. :)

Not that I need to explain myself, but since Chivas fan got tired of this, I felt it would be fun to step up...

I want this place to BURN. I have just thrown more alcohol on it.

P.S.: I REALLY believe in what I said at the beginning of this tread.

Uh, no. I'm accusing the other side of precisely the opposite double standard. I thought that was pretty clear.

I guess I'm one of those "offended" but I think you misunderstand my motivations. I don't care about Chivas, in fact I hate the club as much as any other in MLS not named DC United. I also agree their brand is awful.

My rants are more directed at posters who are always beating the drums of relocation for team X, Y or Z. If Chivas relocates today, there will be a new candidate tomorrow. There's always a perceived weakling in any league in the world in any sport even NFL or EPL. So where does it stop? Next we want to move Columbus because it's a small market with small attendance. Next it's DC because they're having stadium issues. Then it's Dallas because their stadium is too far from Dallas. Ten years down the line it's Red Bull because the new NY team overshadows them and they become irrelevant. Fifty years from now it's Seattle for some crazy reason or another.

I just chose not to go down that path of negativity to begin with. When a club is struggling I just root for them to sort it out and survive, not just in MLS but any league in the world. I've suffered the extinction of my childhood club in Romania after the iron curtain fell, and now I'm facing a possible new extinction of DC United. I just don't wish that on anyone.

Especially those that are advocating the league step in to kill the club come off to me like some incarnation of Romney and Bain Capital coming in to break up the struggling business and flip it for a profit. Now those simply discussing some form of rebranding, I think that's a conversation worth having.

But the thing is, when I read these threads, I don't see much push for relocation. Oh sure, there's the knee-jerks who say "move them to San Diego", but most of the people who actually take the time to explain their thoughts in detail (which means they've actually thought about the issue), don't want the team moved, except perhaps to some other place in Los Angeles.

No, the loudest cry as far Chivas USA is concerned is not "move them", it's "ditch the horrible name and get them their own stadium". It's a far cry from the mindless calls in the past to move Dallas or KC.

How do Chivas USA fans feel about the name and stadium situation? Because as a Whitecaps supporter my opinion holds almost zero weight, compared to those that actually that actually financial and emotionally follow that team.

And what ever happened to the Pomona rumor from last year?

What do you mean they're name situation?

Even Chivas folding would be good for the league, moving and changing the name would be a nice solution, besides that I don't agree one word you say.
F#$K ChivasUSA and they're failed pompous Mexican experiment.

They need to go back to their roots. Chivas is sitting on a potential Gold Mine in LA, but they are not taking advantage of it. The very divisive immigration issue. They should take a political leftist stance & truly divide the soccer fans in LA, like it's done in Glasgow. Would make the games very interesting & bring in more fans for sure.

    Soccer WTF! Who does that?

There is not time to focus on soccer, when we can talk about attendance, TV rating, what Euro player is rumored to be the next DP, what team needs to move, next jersey sponsorship, etc.

    Soccer

I agree that Chivas needs to be helped, not relocated. Keep in mind that Chivas averaged higher attendance than Dallas, Chicago, Colorado, Columbus, San Jose, and New England last season. They do have a fan base. They just need their own stadium in a different part of LA. The club was introduced to LA to connect with Latino fans. Well, move the club to a more Latino part of the city.

The club does have great fans, they just get overshadowed by the Galaxy. I'm pleased that Chivas has started looking for a place to build their own stadium. That's the first step towards getting out from behind the Galaxy and actually getting attention.

P.S. Right now the best candidate part of LA to send Chivas is Santa Ana. I'm not familiar with LA so I'll ask that someone who is tell me how good a location that would be for Chivas.

The proof that Chivas need a new stadium is that all its wins are on road. And in "very easy" stadiums to play as visitors: Rio Tinto and Jeld-Wen!

Relocation works only if the ownership is willing to invest more than usual.
AEG invest a lot more in Houston than it did in San Jose.

The same it will be for any other team, you can "relocate" but if you are not willing to invest, believe me relocation by it self, it means nothing.

No, they didn't. They are known as the WORST of the attendance inflators in this league. Especially when they hold multiple "double headers" at the LA Coliseum that inflates their numbers drastically.

Hell, when they play the LA GALAXY as a home game, it's the only time they come close to a sellout.

Dude, go to a Chivas USA game, you'll realize the league is being duped.

I go to Chivas games, just went to the SKC game. They've now tarped off the upper section and the one GA section, but the rest of the lower bowl was very well represented. Made for a good (not great) atmosphere.

They reported 13,372. Maybe they overreported by 1-2,000, hard to tell. I don't know if that's "wildly" inflated or not compared to other teams.

It's from 2007, but it's still true today. CUSA absolutely inflates their averages to entice sponsors, but the truth is, they are losing money hand over fist and the stadium is DRASTICALLY empty all the time unless they have a double-header (which they take credit for) or they play the Galaxy (which, technically, I guess it's fair to say they sell out the stadium... though you and I know it's a bit twisted).

Is Dallas lower? Probably. But THEY OWN THE STADIUM.

Chivas USA is a fraud. Period. Even the idiots that used to post YouTube videos saying how they liked "Chivas' attractive soccer" over the Galaxy's winning have to have a refreshing cup of STFU because a lot of ex-G's are on their team.

Nothing about CHIVAS USA worked. Even LEGION 1908 has abandoned them.

    Get them out of LA.

My name is Tommy Mack, and I approve this message.

Interesting point. Let me introduce BARCELONA SC, one of the most popular and successful clubs of ECUADOR:

Two thoughts come immediately to mind.

    1) I doubt the two teams share ownership.

    2) Maybe, just maybe, American fans have higher standards.

I was at the SKC game. Admittedly they tarp off the upper section and one GA section, but the rest of the stadium was 80-85% full and definitely not DRASTICALLY empty.

Of course if they didn't tarp off the other sections and people were more spaced out around the stadium, it would appear more empty, no doubt.
