I can't tell you a ton, but I can confirm the signing from FCD sources... http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/soccer/post/_/id/14724/confirmed-fc-dallas-signing-luis-alberto-perea oh, and he has a green card.

He's in! And quickly. Bienvenidos a Dallas Luis!! Clavijo reaps immediate benefits, or at least action. I think this a good young, but experienced striker with an excellent goal-scoring record to come off the bench and pressure the younger guys. Of note, that's brings us to five Colombians which must be some kind of record. Also, green card. Sebastien Botero style.
Excited about this guy. I would like to see guys like Leyva get some sort of chance to keep pushing the rest of the guys.
Luis Perea grateful for a new beginning in Dallas FCD lucked into this one big time. Steps off a plane from Peru, curls one just the wrong side of the post and scores the 84th minute game winner. Ok.
Bagged an assist on the third goal. Does anyone know if there will there be highlights of any reserve matches?
I'm really liking this plan of Shellas and company... See Shellas has realized that if he wants to compete for titles he needs players who can withstand the Texas heat and the brutal sunlight that will beatdown on them constantly, wearing out their bodies as the season drags on. Solution: Melanin. That's right people, Shellas realized that in order to win he needs players with darker skin and needs to get rid of whitey. Let us be honest, the Hispanics and the blacks will fair better in the sun. So slowly he has turned this team darker. The darker the skin the better the player. Moor... Gone, Cooper... Gone, Alexander.... Gone, Dax (surely will die of skin cancer)... Gone, George John... Almost got rid of him, Shea... Made him train with arsenal in an attempt to get rid of him. Look who has come into the team.... Literally look. All brown skin and darker. Shellas is a genius, finding that one competive edge that may just put this team on top. Go Red Stripes...
Has he got a shot at the first team (starter or backup) or is he just a reserve squad player? His signing came out of nowhere. Did this have anything to do with Castillo taking a knock on the knee?
Was this interview in English? That would be a huge plus if he can already speak to players in both english and spanish.
Yes, he moved to America with his father, former Colombian international, when he was 12 and graduated high school in Miami before moving south to start his pro career. Speaks English fluently and with good diction.
Has absolutely nothing to do with Castillo. It just means Castillo is seen as a wing option more than a forward.
Especially with Shea gone for Olympic qualifying and hopefully the Olympics. We'll need Castillo on the wings.
Yes, Sealy and Lee were announced this week. http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/soccer/post/_/id/14729/fc-dallas-signs-scott-sealy-and-alex-lee http://www.bigdsoccer.com/2012/3/13/2868766/fc-dallas-officially-signs-scott-sealy-and-alex-lee
Schellas is making damn-doubly sure that if we dont succeed it wont be for lacking a competent striker. I dig it
