I'm glad this report on the poll mentioned professional soccer as a whole, rather than MLS. I'm sure I read in a related article on the matter somewhere saying that the MLS was second behind NFL in 12-24 age group, which I think is fair to say is not correct.
No, it is not fair to say unless you have hard data proving another conclusion. Apparently, ESPN has done the survey and has the hard data to support their conclusion. While your opinion differs it remains nothing but conjecture without data!
And then there's reality. Past polls, tv ratings, the eyeball test...all points toward MLS not being nearly as popular as EPL and other foreign leagues.

The TV ratings are a bit deceptive, because the Premier League is not a parity league, and all the ratings come from a handful of teams. They show Bolton-Sunderland, and nobody watches. MLS fandom is a bit more spread out. At any rate, the Premier League is not the most popular league in the US. That would be the Mexican League. The poll actually did have numbers for 'avid fandom' for MLS vs 'International Soccer', and MLS only trailed by about 30%.

That is a BS excuse Stan. THE NFL is a parity league and you should check the ratings for MNF when two losing teams take the field.
Comparing soccer TV ratings to NFL and expecting any conclusion you make to be taken seriously? Sorry, but you just shot any credibility you may have had clear to bits.
Plans detail Buzzard Point soccer stadium for D.C. United Construction of a soccer stadium for D.C. United on Buzzard Point in Southwest Washington would require assembling properties from five owners, including the District, according to development plans obtained by Capital Business. The 20-page concept plans, dated July 2010, propose a “Sports & Entertainment District @ Buzzard Point” stretching from Nationals Park to a new D.C. United stadium. The soccer stadium would be bordered by T Street to the south, 2nd Street to the west, Half Street to the east and Potomac Avenue and R Street to the north.
That's the best proposed location for a DCU stadium yet. Even better than Poplar Point. Too jaded to get my hopes up.
This time around I have a good feeling about it. Five owners might present a major hurdle to jump over.

I'm really surprised by the poll. Kids must've started watching it online. I dont believe the stardard neilson ratings, no one can convince me they accurately represent todays tv/cable viewing, only the cable companies could do that. But, hopefully, kids will start playing the game for fun. That's really what needs to start happening, kids playing it everywhere. I really hope the poll is accurate, but, who knows anymore.
Of course, that is not what was stated which was that professional soccer ranked behind only the NFL as the favourite sport of Americans ages 12 to 24 - and it was the No. 1 choice among U.S. Latinos in the same age group. Note! professional soccer NOT MLS. I truly fear that many American blog followers either cannot read or cannot understand what it is that they read!!!
