Love the fight Brian Carroll showed in this match. Not condoning just if it has to happen to step up for a teammate, put some hurt into it. I'd like to see us develop more bite. http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2012/03/brawl-mars-union-friendly-in-costa-rica.html
that was pretty crappy tackle to start things off...people spend time in rehab when that kind of thing goes wrong. But if you like that style start driving North, if Philly doesn't suit your taste you can keep driving up to Boston.
TFC are awful defending set pieces. If the mls can I fully expect them to punish the tfc supporters for the streamers just like they did the Houston fans.
Not interested in bad tackles. You are correct, it was a bit much. Just like when teammates have each others back and surprised at how "hard" Brian was in response. Always thought of him as lacking real bite.
I think I enjoyed most of yesterday's CCCL. Toronto looks like us last year. They have goal scoring threats, but defensively will be let down. LA's attack looks better than last year, but their defense looks really bad. Did anyone see when Becks tried to score direct from a corner? Frei made a good recovery after being caught out in the first place. I wanted to watch Seattles match, but fell asleep midway through. I like those new kits. Dont care what nobody says.
Watching the Caps vs Lightning game on CSN, Pontius and Cruz were interviewed by Al Koken during intermission. It was a quick interview but they made sure to mention the home opener this Saturday and that they'll be showing it.
If you're talking about the CCL match v. LAG, it was not an MLS competition, so I would expect the league to ignore the streamers.
And it's supposed to be in the middle of what is scheduled to be a week long rainstorm. This could be quite embarrassing.
yeah, I'm not sure who sold them that particular bag of goods. Likely they only looked at who the opponent was and not any attendance history. I am sorta hoping for a 0-0 scoreline to go with their poor choice of first opponents and location.
I enjoyed the last 20 minutes of the Galaxy game. I especially enjoyed Brian Dunseth calling out Beckham over his accosting of the referee. I know how Beckham gets away with it, but how does he get away with it? The Salt Lake broadcast crew had Don Garber in the booth earlier...what a great time to ask him about Beckham's behavior. Too bad Beckham's meltdown came after Garber left the booth. Salt Lake's second goal can come down to Beckham leaving his mark and his responsibility to accost Kevin Stott, actually get in his face and stick his finger in his face....meantime Salt Lake scores and Beckham chases after Stott again. He later threw the ball at Stott after a call against the Gals in stoppage time. This shit has got to stop. It's embarrassing. It's like a family with a poorly behaved child everyone tries to ignore because it's so embarrassing to watch in public.
Nothing like a lot of empty seats and vuvuzelas to sell the sport on a network inaugural broadcast. I was told they have NY - DAL match because they're huge markets but really isn't the atmosphere a key part to selling the game (at least they're both "attacking" teams).
I didn't. Picture looked great in HD. Overall, pretty good first broadcast for NBCSN. I could do with a lot less Arlo pbp.
Except for KC beating us, every single Eastern conference team has lost so far... Next up, Houston vs Chivas and Portland vs Philly tomorrow on ESPN.
