Took'em long enough, but they finally made the stage area a 'destination' for matches. I've been saying that for years.
So the stage is still open to anyone over 21, but if you want to sit on these new seats, you gotta buy specific seats? It's a bit unclear since they refer to the stage as a closed area now.
Quinn: I still don't understand why he wanted us, though. Why not call someone who he wouldn't have to ask about a sell-out?
My optimistic view of the Don says he reached out to FCD, Revs, Crew, and maybe the Fahr with this question. My pessimistic view says this is bullsh
Ha, it's funny I read that and thought...why does it matter who they will give you, it's freaking opening day! But perhaps he was angling to get a game with extra importance...the flip side is, he claims they always sell out against LA, NY, Opening Day and July 4...why not roll out a game against a Colorado or KC for Opening day to give you an extra sell out? As to why MLS would pick Dallas, I have to think the attacking style played a factor, hoping to showcase a "fun" game...as does giving the league's newest marketing baby in Brek a good national push with the first broadcast.
Remember when it was a destination for kids with bounce houses? Gawd that was awful and embarassing. I was 1000% on board and stoked about the Quinn hire and it is bearing fruit. This season promises to be the best gameday experience for FCD fans since the stadium opened. Quinn is doing an excellent job. ttujosh, my understanding: it is "closed" meaning it is like the club, no food or drink or alcohol in our out. Though unlike the club this area is open to anyone 21+. Anyone with a ticket can go to the beer garden. The seats are reserved but anyone 21+ can go to the beer garden. I don't know if this means the bleachers they had last year will be reserved or if they are talking about new seats on field level. I don't think they want to block the view of the field from the beer garden with reserved seats. I'd think the bleachers would still be there and be GA but there are now other reserved seats, perhaps field level behind the end-line and advert boards (which is ripe for some drunkard pitch invader!).
You got it. 2012 Beer Garden: 21+ only, Beer and Food can not be taken out of the Beer Garden Beer Garden SEATING: 21+ only Two choices: 1] On stage seating for eating, drinking, standing room, etc. 2] Field Level Bleachers - with ticket only - must be bought specifically for these seats ahead of time - you can not use your ticket from a different section. WHAT'S NEW 20 oz BEERS $4.00 each All game long! Food Choices - more choices and better quality
Kind of bummed about not being able to take my 20oz beer out. Going to just have to get hammered in the 10 minutes between getting to the beer garden and kickoff that I usually allot myself....
Unfortunately, I fear there will be lots of guys with that mindset and you will be lucky to get through the line once in that timespan... unless Legends takes this "hospitality tent" idea seriously and provides more than 2 taps to serve beer with. *fingers crossed*
Alright, after the game now? Did what Quinn say and do meet expectations? I REALLY loved the food, I had the "Authentic Texas Barbeque" and it was heavenly. Loved the video board down below too. Is that new?
I had to wait two days to watch it due to the blackout on mls live (and more specifically due to my lack of cable or satellite), but I thought it was one if the three best games of opening weekend. I guess they all knew what they were doing after all.
