Benschop still injured, Elm is in doubt. This is going to be very interesting as Udinese is high flying in the Italian league, as is AZ in the Dutch league.
Opstelling AZ vs Udinese: Esteban; Marcellis, Moisander, Viergever, Poulsen; Maher, Elm, Martens; Beerens, Altidore, Holman.
It's been quite a physical game for Jozy. Every time I see him, he's on the ground. That or he's so lazy he hasn't gotten up since the first physical contact.
that's what i hate about Jozy, the guy put his arm on his shoulder and he falls dead instead of standing tall and do his job
Agreed. He goes down too easily. I think he's stronger than he appears, just he has a bad habit of going down when he feels contact. AZ 0-0 Udinese at the half
it seems to be part of his game, the refs don't buy it and I don't eitther, a big guy like him falls so easy. Doesn't anyone talk to him ,
AZ absolutely dominated that first half but Udinese had arguably better opportunities. I would guess AZ has had 65% of the possession if not more. Jozy did well in his hold up play. Beerens continues to make great moves followed by really poor passes and/or decisions...he has regressed throughout the season in my opinion. Udinese is packed in with 10 men behind the ball most of the time. I'm afraid Udinese will get one on a counter as they don't look to be a threat whatsoever otherwise. AZ needs to stick at least one in the back of the net quickly.
Replays shows Jozy repeatedly screaming for ball into space that he was occupying and pretty wide open at the top of the box. He doesn't look happy at all.
I truly believe Beerens either has an issue with Jozy or does not trust him. In nearly every game I watch Beerens badly misses and/or ignores Jozy at least twice and you can tell Jozy is just seething.
