    Oh, Trust me, I know.

This is a terrible idea and will never fly and I don't know what I'm talking about because I'm from PA.

Yes, I'm from PA and I don't know exactly how things roll in Atlanta, I'm just looking at possible ideas then playing in a "new' Falcons stadium. Yes, I don't know if Arthur Blank is serious about MLS, but from my point of view it seems like the stadium situation could turn into whats going in New England (except from the fact that the Atlanta stadium will be downtown instead of out in the wilds like Gillette is.) But playing at Herndon would look a lot more attractive then playing in a half empty NFL stadium.

Nonetheless I did research on the stadium.
The stadium doesn't host anybody, Morris Brown college technically owns it but they don't have anything for athletics. I put the distance into google maps and they said a 10-15 minute walk from the Atlanta Dome.

    Pros
    - No Current tenant for the stadium
    - Nice capacity, around 15,000 (Two main stands with a huge entrance to one side, leaving only one goal line to expand though)
    - I believe the surface is grass, they used to have astro turf for Field Hockey back in the 1996 olympics, but replaced it according to the more recent photos.

    Cons
    - Where is the parking? (I'll negate this through the fact that some of the Atlanta Dome parking looks like its as far away as the Atlanta Dome as Herndon stadium would be.)
    - Instead of Arthur Banks playing them in his NFL stadium he might have to pay rent (or the stadium is a white elephant that Morris Brown college wants to get rid of.)
    - The fact that the stadium is on a college campus. (San Jose looks kind of wimpy playing on a college campus.)
-Not much room for expansion, then again, you only need 3,000-5,000 seats to make it respectable and they have a whole goal line to expand.

That would not be a pleasant walk -- trust me.

I haven't been to the old stadium, where the Beat played for a bit, so I don't know the quality of it, but I believe it comes down to ownership. There are plenty of temporary homes available in the city (GA Dome, GT, Herndon, the new small Kennesaw stadium) but a plan would need to be in place for a new stadium first. And Blank seems to be wasting his time on a new football stadium.
