Will Rummi's "appeal" light a fire or will the mad/sadness continue? No better club to take out your frustration than Schalke at home. Tempted to start Olic but Jupp will go with the 'mez.

Here we go again! Hoping we win, as always, but I'm, just not optimistic. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised

The club has been pretty damn lethargic since the restart, grabbing only 9/16 points plus dropping away to Basel in CL. Whatever the cause - injuries, players playing like garbage, squad selection, Jupp's face being too red, lederhosen too tight - whatever...does Sunday's match fall into "must win" category? As a fan, it does for me. They have the chance to leap back into second place. I NEED this game, WE need this game...let's F#CKING GO! YEEAAAAHHH! All my teams are not playing well, and hopefully Bayern can shake me out of my sports malaise....

The guy at the bottom right corner looks like he trusted a fart that he shouldn't have...

We need to win, that's for sure. If we don't, we are in a lot of trouble.

Our defense will also have to give an exemplary performance, Raul and Huntelaar are a handful for any defense in the world.

Kroos on the bench? Ouch. Though he has been pretty poor since the restart, but then again, the whole team has as well. In the Basel game, there was an enormous amount of space behind Gomez the whole time, where Kroos is supposed to be as the "10." He doesn't have Muller's movement, but everything else is superior in Kroos' favor.

That was one reason our attacks are soo lame.

Gomez takes on 2 CB and even if he wins the DM unchallenged mops it up while Kroos is somewhere deep.

I think in the modern game Kroos still needs to discover what role is best for him

Without Schweini, Kroos doesn't get as much of the ball as he needs and has to cover a fair amount of ground going back in order to get involved in the game. His development mirrors that of someone like Alacantara who has done magnificently when Xavi was on the pitch because he got to see much more of the ball.

With schweini dictating the tempo of the game, Kroos has much more space and movement offensively. He was unbelievable in some of those CL games because he didn't have to drop so deep, a role usually reserved for Bastian. Alaba is very talented, but can't do what Schweini is doing, which needs a ton of experience.

He's a CM, he will just take time like Schweinsteiger to actually get there. It may even take him 3 or 4 more years of just good football before he reaches such a step. We have time and quality replacements to give him all the time he wishes to reach that level.

Schalke isn't going to score like this. Also Raul clearly diminishes the effectivity of their pressing.

Agree. Although, we have seen it plenty of times this, it only takes a mistake from our defense and we are 1 down. We should have scored at least once from all the chances we created.
