Does anyone understand why they are installing seats in seemingly random fashion? I know less than nothing about construction and I'm sure there's a reason. Just seems to me that you would start in one place and go around the bowl.
I think that they're starting with the cheap seats first - the very expensive Prawn Sandwich Seats are being custom upholstered from fine Corinthian leather and are taking a while to fabricate.
Of course Corinthian Leather!! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIL3fbGbU2o"]1975 Chrysler Cordoba - YouTube[/ame]
Yeah bro, in construction, it is wise to avoid workers working directly above others when electricity or heavy installing is going on. Falling debris or exposed power sources or welding crews using flame n protective face gear that can limit view and or their hearing. In oil work, the welding dudes worked away from us blowtorching shit up that day. Safety concepts like this sabes! Osea, it CAN be done but I would reckon that there are crews working all over on their schedules to complete what their shift is dedicated to on that specific day and thus seat installers are subordinates to their other coworkers assignments all around our new stadium. Thus, the sporadic installation of the seats.
I'm curious as to the time of day for these shots. I'm just surprised at how much those over-hangs are providing shade on that West side.
All the people that got season tickets on the east side are going to be jealous of those of us with a downtown view. And even more so when they see how nice and shady it's going to be.
San Jose stadium is expected to be finished mid-late 2013 season now that the appeal has just been denied.
Those pictures would have been taken at around 2 pm. You can use the shade from the stage roof as sort of a sundial. At 2 pm the sun is almost directly behind the stage so the shade runs straight out into the field. That also means that the shade from the sideline roofs is cast down to the north parallel to the sidelines. So the seats on both sides would have shade at that time. You do have to remember though, that the sun is still pretty low in the sky. As we get closer to the Summer Solstice the sun will get higher in the sky and that shade will shorten up. That will help some people in the sidelines and hurt others.
I just drove down Harrisburg Blvd. tonight and those raillines go down that road for a few miles, I know they go past Lockwood Dr. Does anybody know what the plan is for that line? When is going to be open?
I don't know exactly when the full line will open up but it will be a while. They have been widening Harrisburg past Wayside. They are going to be building an underpass for Harrisburg under the railroad crossing around 65th St. They haven't even started that yet. They have needed an underpass there for years. My girlfriend had to cross those tracks when she was a kid. It is not unusual for a train to be stopped there blocking Harrisburg.
Better late than never.... here's the view from 228, row A. This was in December and they didn't have any of the mesh up yet. I'm not sure how that will effect the view of the skyline below the roof, but you can still some the tallest buildings above the lights. I imagine that you will still have a view through the mesh, at least during the day. Obviously, the higher you go, the more you will see.
