Chivas USA 2012 jersey unvieled at 30,000 feet: http://www.cdchivasusa.com/news/2012/02/chivas-usa-unveils-new-jersey/
After the Columbus secondary normal is amazing. Agreed. It's a really nice touch. Doesn't look good on all kits but it works on this one.
As of this posting, only four MLS teams remain without a jersey sponsor for this season: Colorado Rapids FC Dallas San Jose Earthquakes Sporting Kansas City -G
We've received teasing tidbits to wait patiently because, allegedly, the delay in jersey unveiling is tied to a pending deal. We will see.
Oh and look new female kits! Okay... good start. Now lets get the printed logo on the ACTUAL jerseys. I may not mind the bulls but this looks so much better.
Not bad. Now, just make that your sponsor, rather than your club's name, and you'll have something people would want to wear.
Damnit. Now I can't look at that picture and not think that guy in the striped hoodie is going to get raped while the person across the aisle films it.
Fair enough. Although we do have an exploding population of immigrants from Mexico and Central America here. Not up to Texas numbers, but still rapidly on the rise. Since Bimbo already has a presence in Texas, then why wouldn't they have hooked up with Dallas? That could have been in place before expansion to Philly was announced... Seconded on both points.
well the headquarters is right outside of Philly.... plus I think thats exactly the point... they didn't have a presence in Philly there was little to none... they want to increase the brand awareness and they succeeded....... now there is a presence.... especially when the deal first struck the name Bimbo was all over the local press and even some national press.....a large number people who didn't know what it was before the deal now know what it is.... weather this results in actual sales or not is debatable I guess, but from an awareness and presence stand point I'd say the Bimbo brand (in Philly at least) is in a drastically better spot than it was before hand.
I think the Chivas shirt is good. Only minor quibbles. I'd take the white stripe off the collar. The different spacing created by the Adidas shoulder stripes makes the pattern distracting. But overall it's a good look, and a big improvement over the odd non-stripe cutouts from their last kit.
I can hear them saying "damn Mythbusters. I don't want to hear that loud ass writer talking to his wife the entire flight."
That FC Dallas call up jersey has mysteriously vanished from the MLS Gear site. Perhaps it is closer to the real deal than expected.
For as much as people were killing the crew for their new jersey design, with the new Barbasol logo filling in the white - it might be my 2nd favorite new jersey (next to philly's new away jersey)
The Crew should have an alternate kit that's just all gray with black trim. There's plenty of gray in the logo to justify it.
