Crappy article, Anybody that knows about soccer knows that Buenos Aires and London take the first 2 spots automatically. Usually, most of the teams that play in Argentina's 1st division are from Buenos Aires. Argentina teams map 2011-2012 And London usually has 25% of the teams in the English Premiership England's teams map 2008-2009
I'm sure TSU will show recruits the stadium. Why wouldn't they? It will be the home field for TSU for quite a while. TSU will have a locker room there. They are a tenant in the Dynamo controlled stadium but, heck, it wouldn't surprise me if TSU in the past showed recruits Reliant Stadium and told them that they would get to play some games there if they signed. Is there some sort of problem with them doing so?
If I were TSU, I would proudly call it my home. They'll do their best to sell that stadium. As Newtex pointed out, they probably did that for Reliant under the whole, we're one good season away from getting at least one game there. It's part of Houston, and more importantly it's their stadium, too. They backed us up. As long as it doesn't take too much damage they can do whatever they want.
One good season? TSU has played quite a few games at Reliant no matter the season. They played there in 2010. I hadn't checked but they are playing a game there this year. It is a "home game" for Prairie View against TSU at Reliant Stadium on September 1, 2012.
They don't play in bowl games. Or in the I-AA playoffs. SWAC teams have a conference championship game in December and they play various "Classics" during the season at big stadiums.
They don't? Is that similar to that playoff system thing, SHSU, was involved in? I don't follow College Football that much, but that's pretty cool.
*Back on topic* Since the SG section is getting bleachers, what are they going to during boxing matches? That's assuming that there will be boxing matches, since De La Hoya has been quoted as wanting that to happen. The concerts won't be an issue, but I hope there's a way to put in seats for boxing and other events that involve non-SG members.
1. I'll believe bleachers in the Supporter Section when I see it. 2. A good chunk of the Supporter Section is the removable section where the stage will be. Those might not even be there for boxing. The permanent seats are only a couple of hundred out of 22,000. It's just not that big a deal.
Sam Houston State was in the 1AA playoffs this year. (I refuse to call it the Football Championship Subdivision, the official name). It is not really similar since that is a multi-team tournament that culminates in a national championship game. TSU and the other members of the South West Athletic Conference do compete in 1AA during the regular season but, along with the Ivy League, they don't participate in the end of the year playoffs for that division. The Ivy League gives the championship to the team with the best record. The SWAC has a one game championship between the two teams with the best record.
Probably cover the field with hard tarp. They should lead each boxer side by side, just like in association football. That also goes for whoever TSU is playing too.
And speaking of SHSU (my grad school), we'll be playing TSU there on Sep. 29; all the empty seats being disguised as Bearkat fans.
"Is that a crane shot? Is LaRue using a crane shot there? That's a helicopter shot! That man must be demented, that's a helicopter!..."
Hey, a question.... I'm sure Newtex will know the answer. What is the thing that looks like a car wash (with no exit) over at one side of the service end? You can see it in the ariel view above, it's the little square building on the top right hand side. Here's a pic: Also, we noticed they were pumping out a lot of water from below grade yesterday. Hope that's something just from construction and not some inherent problem. I'm sure it's cool. Oh, and another thing.... walking to Lucky's yesterday, there was a shopping cart man singing and yelling about something, all by himself, walking along the sidewalk in front of Newtex' house. Probably one of Newtex' friends. Then when we started our weekly walking tour around the stadium, a street guy came up asking for money "for some Dr. Pepper." But he saw we were wearing Dynamo jerseys, he asked if we had anything to do with "all that" and pointed toward the stadium. We said, "well, sorta" and he said "man, that sure is messing up a lot of stuff around here." So I gave him Westside's number and told him he was in charge and to give him a call.
I'm looking forward to our new supporter's group - the Eastside Homies!!!! It's perfectly fitting they asked for some Dr. Pepper money - a founding sponsor of BBVA Compass Stadium!!! What a corporate tie-in!! I'm sure with all of the rain that every construction site in town was pumping out water. However, I have no idea if they installed an underground pumping system to help drain the water or if they did the standard sand base with gravel and other fill below the field. The pumping system is obviously more expensive.
