Well, Sounders Women. This is huge news for Sounders Women who have struggled to attract much more than family and friends of the players to games. Although, I will say they did screw up a bit in not having a season ticket page up to accept deposits. W-League's schedule isn't out yet, but at least have a deposit page up and then charge then $10-$20 per game once the schedule is out. Strike while the iron is hot, so to speak. http://www.tacomafc.com/SoundersWomen/index_E.html
Re: Leroux and Solo sign with the Sounders The wife and I were tempted to go to a few games this year anyway now it is a must. Seeing Hope Solo play would have been enough but adding Leroux on the offensive side should make for an exciting game on both sides of the pitch. Now if they could just convince Alex Morgan that it would be in her best interest to be up here near Carrasco...
Re: Leroux and Solo sign with the Sounders Sounds like they'll only be there for three of the home games, plus whatever exhibitions they have. https://twitter.com/#!/joshuamayers/status/169870541417742337
Re: Leroux and Solo sign with the Sounders Schedule for the Women is out: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/ht...mens_schedule_relea.html#.TzwPpVjusdY.twitter I'm guessing the games Solo and Leroux will be in are 6/5, 6/8 and 6/17. Both are going to get called up for the Olympics and, apparently, their training camp is a month or so long.
Re: Leroux and Solo sign with the Sounders anyone hear if there are plans for double header someday and have SSFC-W play at the Clink before a Sounders game?
Re: Leroux and Solo sign with the Sounders Well I could edit again so that it didn't but that would hardly be worth my time
Re: Leroux and Solo sign with the Sounders But then I could re-edit it again. Hmm.. Dueling moderators. That could be interesting.
Re: Leroux and Solo sign with the Sounders The Wash: Hope for state’s women goes beyond any solo act The Sounders Women and Hope Solo made headlines this week when it was announced the Washington native (Richland) and US Women’s National Team goalkeeper had signed to play this spring with the W-League side. For many via social media the response was “I didn’t even know there was a Sounders Women.” That, my soccer friends, is really the point.
Re: Leroux and Solo sign with the Sounders Amy Carnell appeared on "This Week in Women's Soccer" and dropped a lot of knowledge on the present and future of the Sounders Women, including how the team will better connect with the Sounders men. The women will sport the rave green adidas this year, among other things: http://nasn.tv/2012/amy-carnell-on-this-week-in-womens-soccer/
Re: Leroux and Solo sign with the Sounders Huh. Sounders Women hinting that Alex Morgan might be joining Solo and Leroux https://twitter.com/#!/SoundersWomen/status/174253824918306816
Re: Leroux and Solo sign with the Sounders. Morgan too? I should have waited a couple of minutes. Morgan signs with Sounders Women. http://www.soundersfc.com/News/Articles/2012/02-February/Alex-Morgan.aspx
Cool. I'd definately have to catch a Sounders women game, especially if they do a double header with the men's team.
so that's like the core of the USWNT? and they start their season against Seattle U & UW? i almost feel bad for those schools. great to keep the core playing together outside of official USWNT matches though.
Mostly college kids. For the 6 or 7 games the WNT players are in the Sounders Women should kick ass. It is the rest if the season that should be interesting.
