I would say start a new one for selfish reasons (don't need the temptation) but it's probably just as well that we keep all EA-related conversation here. Yeah I also like to dribble near the sidelines and let them tackle me since all they'll do is give me throw-ins. Basically I'm stalling for all I'm worth. If they want to use cheap tactics, I'll be cheap right back. Now can anybody please tell me how to stop this f*%king chopping, skipping, freezing, lagging or whatever you call it that happens to every game that I try to play now in my Career Mode. This really is the last straw for this game if there's no solution.
I had problems last year getting past year 2 of my career mode, my players would just disappear. But this year I haven't made it that far yet.
i hear ya. i (arsenal) just dominated man city in a league cup match. fought like hell to pull one back after i gave up a stupid early goal when dzeko just danced through my entire defense. i finally got the goal in the 80th minute and figured i'd just ride it out and win the return leg. nothing doing. they notched two goals in the space of a minute while my defenders were running into each other. same shots on goal tally, 12 - 3. defending in this game is a right joke. even when you have the angle on the player with the ball your player magically bounces off an invisible force field. and even when you switch to the player in the best position, he takes an unnecessary stride which gives the guy with the ball acres of space.
The change of speed by the CPU in all aspects, both defensively and offensively is just unstoppable. I played City the game before the Spurs game. I was down 3-0 and somehow came back to salvage the point. Except in the 90th minute their right winger gets the ball in the corner, I try to box him in, he goes back and forth into the corner, then with his back facing the goal, does a turn and launches a cross into the box where the computer auto switches me to my right back, behind the City striker, my goal keeper watches the ball sail right to the City strikers head not a foot in front of him for the 90th minute game winner. 4-3 I think I actually shed tears after that loss.
yeah, my friend and i used to play fifa XX - 11 together all the time and we called that the J-O-B. we would be playing away, defending a lead or fighting back, and we could both just tell when the cpu decided "to make things interesting." but in this iteration of the game the J-O-B is particularly insidious because defending is like stepping on the brakes when you hit black ice.
Here's how I know when I'm about to get scored on. -It's 38+ minutes in a half. -I've successfully tackled 5 consecutive players only to have the ball immediately go out of bounds or directly to one of their teammates. -I can no longer intercept passes and there is absolutely noone who is properly positioned to defend. -If I do get the ball and hold the pass button until the meter fills my clearance is only about 15 yards. -If I do manage to get in a little offense even the most awkward and harried of CPU clearances goes straight to one of the strikers who leads a dangerous run on my goal. It's ridiculous. I do alot of shielding around then, but it gets annoying when you get run into by your own players while trying to stay in front of the man in possession. Like I said before, I've managed to learn the game to the point where I no longer think that it's truly scripted, you can beat it when it starts doing this. It's just a really flawed way of introducing game adversity bc there are alot of aspects which are incredibly hard to deal with and control, and it ends up leaving you feeling like you're not even playing. I've laid down my controller in such situations and the team did a better job of getting the ball back just by not really moving at all. The CPU plays off of your attempts to defend it. I've also started to think of career mode as actually managing a team rather than playing as a team which makes me less angry when the issues start to show themselves.
Lol I played the be a pro mode for the first time. I was a striker at Real Madrid. Our first game was against Stoke in a friendly. I figured I get to score some goals make the moves you know. Final possession stats were 70% Stoke city.
that's actually a very healthy way of looking at it. i am only halfway through my first season in career mode with arsenal but i got a lesson early on when van persie "decided" he didn't want to be a part of the team. i sold him in the blink of an eye pretty much for the hell of it, thinking "well, let's see what happens." with the proceeds i bought cavani and he has scored more than a goal a match in all competitions. sometimes you just have to go mercenary.
--Does anyone know if it's possible to create more than one virtual pro? Also, does anyone playing on PS3 have a pro club?

I finally took it back yesterday. I just couldn't take it any more. By far the worst sports game I have ever played. I dominated MLS for a little bit with RSL, won the SPL title and then built QPR up from a mid-Championship side to one of the best in the world. All I wanted to do was enjoy managing QPR in the Champions League, but the gameplay just would not let me enjoy the game at all, not to mention the screwed up player development. I had two games back-to-back that finally made me give up on it. In the first one, I was tied 1-1 with Manchester City at around 70' when the game decided to, as someone put it earlier, "make it interesting." I think it was Pato that weaved through numerous players on my defense and my young, stellar goalkeeper (an American I first signed with RSL) couldn't keep the shot out. Luckily, I bounce back with an exquisite passing sequence to tied it up again at 2-2. For Man City, a 67 year old Toure or however old he was at that point was red carded in the 81' for a tackle from behind. With 10 men, at home, City was still on the attack. That's not out of the realm of possibility, but I am a top side and they passed it through my defense like it was nothing and boom, #3. Even more luckily, I bounce back again and work my way through their 10-man team and tie it again at 3-3. That wasn't enough for the game. Man City races past my defense and their striker curls one past my goalkeeper in stoppage time. Always enough stoppage time for the CPU to get one last attack in, but never enough for the controller. In the next game, I was up 2-1 on Bolton who was much better than they are now and in the second half I had a perfect breakaway and I told one of my good players to do a through ball. Instead, he passes it straight toward the teammate. The problem is, the reason I wanted a through ball is to get it around the defender that was directly in between them. Side tangent: the passing in this game is so f**ked. I've never seen anything like it. No matter what mode you have it in, its jacked up. If you have two or more players in the same general area, the computer will ALWAYS pass it to the worst possible option. If one player is open and another is behind a defender, you can kiss possession goodbye. I don't know how many goals were scored on me because the other team got a breakaway off an errant pass that I didn't choose. /tangent Back to Bolton, I knew, I knew that I was screwed when that happened. Sure enough in like the 87' or something Bolton scored to make it 2-2. Again, not enough for the game. I'm scrapping and doing everything I can to keep the ball and then play defense when we can't. It doesn't matter because, of course, defenders don't mark in this game, and they get an easy goal at the edge of the 6-yard box because no one marks the attacker. Hands down, worst game I have ever played, its just the margin is bigger in the sports category. I had my best team up to that point and just couldn't take it anymore. I'll have to think long and hard about whether to get FIFA again next year, finally trying out PES or just giving up on soccer games for a while and sticking with NCAA Football.
I've been playing recently on World Class after playing a season on Legendary. I guess I can't find a happy medium. On World Class I'm in December and I've only dropped 5 points for the entire season whereas with the same team on Legendary I was in tenth. Defending is just a nightmare. There isn't much you can do. Your defenders switch off, well they are never really on. The CPU attackers can move in any direction at full speed. Defensive midfielders stand around. Attacking movement is about as clever as Eddie Johnson. It is what it is.
I am going to use this thread to vent. I have been playing more of PES online the last few weeks. IT seems like most of the FIFA online players bunker and counter which really just takes away from the game. PES has its faults don't get me wrong. Seems like everyone on there Picks Real Madrid or Barca... ...but at least they attack you and try to keep possession like a real team.
you just suck buddy. FIFA 12 is the best football game ever made. Been playing PES and FIFA since way back in 98 and this is by far the best
