Maybe that's why Beasley finds the cops situation comical there, especially their ways of "handling" traffic tickets.
I doubt it. Not too many American players will get DP money these days unless they're named Donovan, Dempsey or Howard. Feilhaber, Demerit and Adu (can't remember if he'll end up being a DP or not) all got big contracts by MLS standards, but they still weren't DP's. There are definitely some others like Michael Bradley, Jose Torres, Jozy Altidore, etc. who are DP material for MLS teams, but they wouldn't shell out the money. I think things are changing though. Teams seem to be a lot more aggressive and proactive than they used to be. Gomez would be good for most teams in MLS, but I just don't see too many of them making him a DP. Maaaaaaaaaaybe Seattle, Portland, SKC, RSL and Houston. I think he fits the bill for all five teams. I don't see RSL going for a DP striker and I don't think Herc is the type of DP Houston is searching for. I think it would be a great move for teams like Chivas, Columbus, Chicago, San Jose and Dallas, but they wouldn't go for him.
They'll never spend the money but IMO as a Mexican-American Gomez would be a perfect DP for Chivas USA.
I don't think he'd be a good DP. He was too inconsistent in MLS. He's a better fit for goals and good play in mexico.
Very rarely was he played in his most effective position in MLS, which is the same problem he has encountered at times in Mexico.

He's still the best natural LM/LW we've got. Shea isn't even close. And Johnson, Dempsey, and Donovan are all really right footed. And I've watched Robbie Rogers play 20 games a year for the last 4-5 years, and he doesn't even belong in the discussion.
yeah his speed is up and has been playing very well, good game for puebla and much needed point as well
he certainly couldn't do worse than shea in the last couple of games. this is the longest that he's been healthy for a while. they're not tackling his knees and ankles off in the fmf.
Yea, not to mention his touch and imagination on the ball is what Klinsi' wants out of his guys. They can learn a thing or two from Demarcus.
Beazer is a very good player when he is healthy, getting regular minutes with his club and has his head screwed on straight.
Yeah, and he's not played much these last few years so he should have some miles left on those legs yet. I've always been very partial to Beasley - and it does appear that when he's doing well JK will call on him. He's made several rosters and gotten some minutes. That was a very nice goal he had this week. Happy to see that.
"12:30 p.m. ET — Puebla's DaMarcus Beasley has received an offer from a French club, believed to be Nancy, MLSsoccer.com has learned. The deal is on the table for the 29-year-old former Chicago Fire player, although Puebla are thought to be unlikely to accept the offer for a player they only signed last summer. Puebla's season has been hampered by problems paying the players and with Mexico's tax authorities. (Tom Marshall)" Sourced here
If Puebla aren't paying wages or paying them in a timely manner get the Helll out there. It could be a sinking ship --- quick. Mexico has been a good fit for DMB but Nancy and Ligue 1 would be too. The Ligue 1 table is tightly packed and Nancy sit in 13th but not completely safe. Interesting to see if this happens. If it does it will need to be done in a quick fashion and the clock is ticking.
