About time they get their heads out of their fourth point of contact, they originally were not going to televise the match but I guess they realized that a Derbi Sevillano is a good thing even though they will have to fumigate the Villamarin after the Sevilla supporters leave the match! I have verified and yes now ESPN Deportes will be showing the match live at 1255 PST and as usual I am out of the loop doing my Army Reserves gig, thank God for the DVR.

Carlos-Are you planning to get a season ticket this year for the Quakes, I have not yet renewed but may do so but will not be able to make a lot of the matches due to the Army Reserves, are you interesting in splitting one season tix in the Casbah section which will now be on the opposite goal line? If so send me a PM.

Tomorrow's match against Granada will be at 1200 hrs Spanish time, 0300 hrs PST. The match will not be televised on any of the usual US channels or ESPN3. As for updates, Betis said that Javi Chica and their new signing Paulao will be one of the 17 players suited for the match.

Also Ezequiel was loaned out to Sabadell and part of the loan deal is that he must play a certain number of games. Ezequiel fell out of favor with Mel due to his lack of professionalism, work ethic and under performing at practice.

Glad the game wasn't televised and at 0300 hrs PST as Betis played like crap going into a 0-2 hole at the half and just plain running out of runway in the second half losing to Granada 1-2 whose new coach Resino picks up the win in his first match as the saying goes, "entrenador nuevo victoria segura"!

Here is the match report for a Betis team who is now in 13th place with 23 points just 3 out of relegation zone.

Here are the highlights don't know how long they'll be up for but here they are:

What is concerning is that the 4 teams Er Glorioso beat to start the season they are now 0-2 in the second half and Granada and Mallorca were beatable teams, definitely a win tomorrow against Athletic who played in the Copa this week would be a great morale booster. Word on the street is that if Betis loses this week and next week to cellar dweller Zaragoza, Pepe Mel will be shown the door. After Zaragoza it's Levante on the road.

DVR'd the game since I was out defending God and County these past 5 days. Saw the match tonight and was thinking as the minutes were going by quickly that Betis deserved the 3 points and were dominating big time after Javi Martinez was red carded. I lost track of how many corners they got in the last 5-6 minutes but when Nelson got off that one timer and it ripped the back I was jumping up and down yelling like a little kid!

Er Glorioso is now in 13th place with 26 points, 3 ahead of Sporting who is in 18th place. If Real Sociedad wins tomorrow they will jump ahead of Er Glorioso into 11th place with 27 points and Betis will remain tied with Sevilla and Villareal on points. Next week Betis is on the road against Zaragoza who remain cellar dwellers but defeated Espanyol this weekend 0-2 on the road. Another Betis victory would put Betis at 29 points before they take on Getafe at home, Levante away and Real Madrid at home.

Er Glorioso may be on TV 5 weeks in a row, yesterdays match, the Zaragoza match is the lone Monday match, Getafe on Saturday, Levante the lone Monday match and of course Real Madrid. We'll have to wait and see what GOLTV and ESPN decide to show.

Here are the highlights of yesterdays game!

Big game tomorrow as Er Glorioso travels to Zaragoza to take on the cellar dwellars. With this weekends results, Er Glorioso has currently dropped a couple of slots down as both Mallorca and Granada won. If they win tomorrow they will have 29 points and move up into 12th place tied with Sevilla and six points clear of relegation and three points outside of Europe!

Here is the preview for tomorrows match, which is not being carried by any US TV stations.

Er Glorioso defeated cellar dweller Zaragoza 0-2 with Ruben Castro scoring the double in the 41st and 68th minute. With the 3 points Betis opened up a 6 point gap from the relegation zone and are now only 3 points out of the UEFA League and 4 points out of the CL. They are also tied with ************ FC with 29 points.

Here is match preview, I had to laugh at the title of the preview as no one in Spain uses Benhat's last name when referring to him.

Also the match starts at 1200 hrs EST, 0900 hrs PST tomorrow and is live on GOLTV.

1-1 Final Score as both teams could have won this game. Er Glorioso had better ball possession throughout the match but Getafe's counters were dangerous. I thought that Jefferson Montero and Paulao were the best Beticos on the pitch yesterday. With the draw Er Glorioso is now 4 points out of the Europa League, 5 points out of the CL and 6 points out of the relegation zone.

Man, didn't realize this place has been dead. Anyway just wanted to show that Ex-Betico Marcus Assunção still has it.

Er Glorioso's match tomorrow (Thursday) against RCD Espanyol will be televised live on ESPN Deportes at 1500 hrs EDT, 1200 hrs PDT. It will also be streamed live on ESPN3.com

This and the next game are huge for Er Glorioso's push to remain in Primera. With Sporting losing today, and if the Palanganas can beat Racing tomorrow a Betis win would put them 9 points out of relegation zone. The next match is at home against Racing and if they are able to snag those 3 points that would put them 12 points ahead of Racing and depending on what Sporting does would either remain 9 points out of danger or 12 points.

Once again Betis can not put away a 1-0 lead against cellar dwellars Racing. Last week it was Salva Sevilla missing the 2-0 goal and Espanyol getting the draw late in injury time. Today Jefferson Montero and Ruben Castro missed chances to give Er Glorioso a 2-0 lead and then Racing ties it up in the 78th minute.

0-2 and 3 urgently needed points today as Er Glorioso once again showed they can play their best futbol against the Liga's best teams. Goals by Betis Pichichi Ruben Castro in the 39th minute and Dorado in the waning seconds of the first half were enough to seal the victory and bring home the prize! With the win Betis is once again 7 points out of the relegation zone (plus winning the tie breaker against 18th place Zaragoza). They are in 14th place with Real Sociedad and Villareal still having a game at hand.
