To commemorate the LA Galaxy’s 2011 Championship season, adidas and Major League Soccer have released a special edition PRIME official match ball to be used exclusively by the Galaxy for all 2012 home games. Inspired by the Philip F. Anschutz trophy, the Championship edition PRIME is done up in metallic silver and gold to pay homage to the trophy’s coloring and a unique graphic mirrors the trophy’s shape and handles. The PRIME is the official match ball of the MLS and features a new panel design to provide more accurate and consistent ball movement, a matte finish for better grip and improved sealing for better performance in all weather conditions. It's a very cool looking ball, and it'll look great in our opponent's net, but I still say it's a bad idea to do this "we are the champion" crap with a different ball and a goofy scudetto. Let's not do a victory lap, let's prove ourselves the champion by, yes, you guessed it - - winning another championship.
Agreed it seems like MLS is trying to too hard. Though I would like to see the Scudetto awarded to the Supporters’ Shield winners instead of the Cup winner.
I dont mind that there is a special ball for the MLS cup champions but I did hear that the silver ball they used for the MLS Cup was hard to see on TV. Anyone notice that?
Don't remember if the ball was hard to see...I guess I will just have to go back and rewatch the match again...thanks for the excuse! Somebody please tell me I'm not the only person who still can't delete the final off of their DVR!
"features a new panel design to provide more accurate and consistent ball movement" Since every Adidas ball in the last 20 years has made the same claim the ball must be virtually perfect by now!
I forgot to record the final, but i still have on my DVR the Morelia game with Juninho's extra time winner... I was there in person and still get goosebumps replaying it to this day..... Rogadinho yelling, "juuuuunnnnnnniiiiihhhhhhhoooooooo" then he does the flip right infront of those piss throwing USA hating punks.... EAT IT MORELIA
That sucks... is there no way of getting everything off the harddrive without voiding the warranty? Also, back on topic, Colorado had a silver "champions" ball last season and it wasn't hard at all to see.
