You guys would look so hip and fly and (other things people said in the 90's) if you had a Clash throwback.

Ha! Hadn't even thought of that. But yea, I'd love to see more throwback thirds like what Portland is doing. I'd wear a Tornado third.

They just wish they could be groovy, solid, and far out like Portland's retro 3rd. KEEP ON TRUCKIN'!

Anyone else automatically think of the '96 players on stage showing the original uniforms when they see this picture?

Aside from the Sounders jersey... I think you're alone. ;)

I read the article and didn't see any clash reference ..... whats the "primarily blue away/clash jersey" in reference to?

"Clash" is a common soccer term for "Away" jersey because you primarily when your home colours in every game except when your shirts are the same color as the home team and you need a jersey that 'clashes'. So San Jose wouldn't be able to wear black at RFK.

As for the clash/Clash thing, that was just me being a dick.

    New Chicago jerseys unveiled today.

Personally, I like the horizontal pinstripe look. I'm assuming the red marks in the stripes are the Chicago stars. Interesting that they went away from the big white stripe on the home jersey.

Before 2003, the stripe was always a combination of white and blue stripes, so it's not a total departure. In 2000 and 2001, it was a white stripe with a narrower blue stripe below it. I assume they changed it to blue this year to keep with the theme of the away jersey, which is definitely a rework of the Chicago flag concept with the stars in the pinstripes.

Thanks ..... I didn't know the clash-away reference, but am glad that there is not going to be a "Clash" type jersey this season.

This was a neat way of unveiling the jerseys and sponsors. Surprised by how well the Quaker face works. Really want to see a better pic of the away jersey though. The Chicago flag stripes look sweet

Makes me realize just how many teams we have now. Not long ago we would have had just one row.

Digging the sublimated diamond plating on the red Chicago jersey. Like a firetruck.

logan's not going to have a very good game if he had to dribble the ball all the way from downtown chicago to bridgeview ... that's a long damn way. he probably missed the whole first half :D

Honestly, the sponsor looks pretty horrible. No one wants the Quaker man staring at them.
