Problem with Boateng is that he is a natural CB, and he's only ever been used as a fullback because of surpluses of centerbacks and shortages of fullbacks in the teams that he's played.
In this case his versatility has impeded his development, because if he is to play and more importantly develop at CB, which he wants to and, I thought, was the purpose Bayern bought him, he needs consistent playing time there.

The real thing that gets me is that Rafinha has looked sharp this season and I haven't seen that much from Buyten that it warrants a lock-down starting spot. I think we've seen even through the good streaks that his partnership with Badstuber is flawed.

Did Kroos play on the wing in the last match? I'd rather see Mueller out of position than Kroos currently. Maybe even play Alaba at left wide over Mueller, if Franck is out.

    Agree with everything, repped.

Even against Al Ahly the van Buyten - Badstuber pairing was completely to blame for the goal. Van Buyten was in no man's land after giving the ball away, marking nobody and trying but failing to put pressure on the ball. Badstuber got smoked by a through ball and it was 1 on 1 with Neuer in the blink of an eye.

I don't know how many times we have to say it - Badstuber needs an athletic partner to play well, just like Schweinsteiger needs a defensive player next to him in midfield.

That's very true, with Boateng they were both at the top of every pass and every move, no surprises they have conceded far more with Buyten at his side (although lets no ignore the Schweinsteiger factor). Truth is though, that through ball could have been avoided had he merely waited than give that rash challenge which left acres of space and took Badstuber by surprise.

Only saw the highlights, but Kroos playing anywhere but the middle is just wrong. He is our Oezil.

Tuesday will be a great day for Indian Bayern fans (como yo). I'm in the country, but unfortunately, on work, so I cannot make it for the Tuesday match. Still great to see the relationship growth between Bayern and Indian football. I really do hope they start an academy here.

And people questioned his level ... The opposition wasn't great but Usami is one of the best prospects in the world. Of course he won't get any playing time if the club keeps buying finishing products.

mix of seeing him with the second squad and getting into the asian market. After this game if he continues to show they probably will purchase him and loan him out.

    For real?

I agree he needs playing time, sitting in bench will do him more harm than good.

Perhaps we can loan him to the likes of Hannover or M-gLAdbach?

For real. Asian players get no respect because football is not a traditional sport there. But Usami was one of the stars in the 2009 U17 WC.

You aren't getting into anything. The Asian market nowadays = China and this is where you find the strongest anti-Japanese feeling in the world. You'll get some recognization in Japan instead and maybe enough to pay one month of Ribery's wages in shirt sales.

Cementing the rivalry. I'm considering attending the away game to Dortmund.

The silver lining is looking for excuses when we looked like fools, and obnoxiously arrogant. I wonder which player is interesting next for the FO and would love to come to Munich, so I can write him off as a list of suspects to join us.

We needed a wide player considering Robbery's injuries, and our #1 target chose our league rival team over us.

That's wrong, he's pretty decent of the left wing and proofed himself there for Bayer and Bayern. He was also called up to the NT when he played on that position.

That was a different system though. Heynckes played a 4-4-2 in Leverkusen. In Leverkusen Kroos had room to drift into the middle, where he had his best scenes.

LOL.... how easily one forgets the most ridiculous childish red-card of the season.
Boateng had that title until Franck pulled a typical Franck.

Agreed. For one preaching "keep our tactical positions in tact", this certainly does fit Jupp's mantra.

So is Mueller then in Kroos' position?

Is there any word on Schweinsteiger's fitness levels? I can't imagine he will be hitting the ground running against Borussia Monchenglabach.

Favre just got a boner reading about the Kroos-change.

What does Usami have to do to get some love?
