You are both right. I totally spaced out and forgot that the Olympics is this year. Duohh. Yeah he's not going anywhere but LA.
Watch him sign with the Goats... I would burn every piece of DB merchandise my wife has bought the last 15 years.
Only way he will sign with the Goats is if he likes finishing at the bottom of the table. I'm pretty sure he will be back with the Galaxy for at least one year
Galaxy has the rights to him in MLS - he can't sign with another club without being traded. Everyone - deep breath!

LOL! Sanda, do you really have to? I mean, I was wondering if those in BS are realizing about this, but never thought I would see someone actually posted them in here! Well, at least not the pictures. Hahaha...guess I forgot about YOU!
A lil' something from Wahl about Becks... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/grant_wahl/01/05/beckham/
From the Wahl story: "t was in Beckham's interest to encourage the speculation and receive as big an offer as possible from PSG so that he would get the best offer possible from the Galaxy." Read 'em and weep Yasmina - that's EXACTLY what I told you I thought Becks was doing and you poo-poo'd it. Oh, I forgot, Yasmina doesn't come here any more. I wonder why?

I don't begrudge the guy for being a smart self-marketer and trying to get whatever the market will bear for his services. The bottom line is he chose family well-being and LA over more $ overseas. So kudos to Becks. We'll need him given our losses down the spine of our team.
Over my career, I have more than once blamed my wife and kids for a decision to stay in a job/location when I really didn't want to move to the new opportunity for professional reasons better left unsaid. I've also turned down speaking/conference opportunities with the same excuse from time to time. Most of the time, there is some truth to it although the family usually says they would be willing to do it if it is really important to me professionally. It's just that it is easier to blame them than explaining yourself because it allows you to exit the negotiations on good terms and it is generally an unassailable excuse. Could be part of what is going on here.
I love Paris been there a few times but the winters are cold and the city only really come to life during the spring. Truthfully I would choose LA over Paris even without factoring in the family
No, I meant what I said. From all available evidence David is a family man who loves spending time with his kids. He reportedly even drives them to school on most mornings when obviously he could have a chauffeur handle this task. I both predicted and admire his decision of family happiness over $$, even if there were likely other factors involved.
