I just got an email from the RB's, selling "field seats". Sold to Season tix holders first, these seats on "on the pitch" and come with a lot of perks. The price was not listed.
I'm sure this is because the demand for the Premium midfield seats is so great that they had to open up new areas for overpriced seating. Right?
Golly Mr. Heck, it'll be like courtside NBA seating! Many a time have I heard RBNY fans clamoring to see people eating at tables on the sidelines like at Toronto FC games.
For Red Bull it's all about the $$$$---why not put sideline seats if they can make a whole bunch of money on just one seat? More money than 5 normal seats put together i bet. Kinda like the same idea behind luxury boxes. Ideally they should concentrate on selling out the stadium, but that may be a bit much to ask from the front office right now.....
Field side is a really crappy place to sit if you actually want to watch the game. However it's a great place to sit if you want to catch a wayward clearance by Luke Rodgers with your face. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6r9_7kCtV9o"]In Yo Face[/ame]
I think these seats are for people who want to be..."seen", not real fans. Everyone knows that watching the game from that location is the worst place to sit.
I asked the Front Office about the price - range is $7,000.00 - $8,000.00 per seat. they are considered Club Seats and come with all the inclusive food and drink and parking pass. I guess I am no longer in the first row as now I will be looking in on somebody sitting below me!! HECKNO!!
