yes!! so are you saying Tottenham couldn't get it done at Stoke on a cold December night (afternoon)?
Is is better to be 3 points closer to Russia or the UAE? such tough questions. I'm sure Kenny has not given up on the title yet. Maybe not very realistic, but the more we push ourselves towards 1st, the easier making top 4 becomes IMO.
How about a draw today and multiple red cards and injuries for both teams and points docked for a mass brawl?
I have no shame supporting Abu Dhabi over Spartak on this one. Also, remember back when Stamford Bridge was a hard place to get a win?
they should've let Lescott save the penalty. He's really good with his hands. Was hoping for a draw or City win but Chelsea get really lucky. Now, we must keep winning. no more stinkin' draws.
Nice to see the sheik's all-stars finally lose. I saw about two-thirds of the game, and they played quite reckless. Almost as if they didn't expect the ref to call most of their fouls.
I'm not giving up on the title until it's mathematically impossible, but I did want to see Chelsea to drop points today. The title race is now wide open. Let's pop off 12 wins in a row. Why not?
I don't see us winning it, but it would be great for the league and fans for the top five or six all vying for the title come May instead of the usual two horse race.
Darren Fletcher is taking an extended break from football for health reasons. Unusual. No idea how long he will be out for but I assume he will miss most of this season. Also Arsenal's Andre Santos will be out for three months with a ligament injury. He has had surgery but will need time to recover. Not sure who will play at LB for Arsenal - Gibbs I assume.
So basically, United's midfield consists of an injury-prone Tom Cleverly, fish-out-of-water Michael Carrick, aging Ryan Giggs, more-of-a-winger-than-a-midfielder Park Ji-Sung, injury-prone Anderson, and now an ill Darren Fletcher. I hate to throw around the word "crisis" because they're actually racking up points, but this can't last, can it?
That's why they have been playing Jones in Midfield. Anderson is still out injured, as is Cleverly. Gibson was someone they tried to sell in the summer, so is not regarded as good enough. They do have decent wingers like Nani, Valencia and Young but they are looking thin in central midfield currently.
I guess that's also why Rooney has to drop into midfield to get the ball, not necessarily because that's his strength. And I hope Phil Jones in midfield means more starts for Johnny Evans.
I hope he has the decency to sign with a club outside England. Because signing with another Premiership club would be the ultimate show of disrespect to Chelsea.
