Don't forget all the movie studios, and entertainment groups. We can even compete with Seattle's Xbox with Electronic Arts or Activision. There is just so much out there, I know there is someone better than "Getalife".
It's not a question of who is the "better" sponsor. It's a question of what sponsor will offer the most money.
Oh Herbalife. Thanks for the goodtimes. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1B-47w3Ffe8"]LA Galaxy Herbalife - One Jersey, Two Champions - - YouTube[/ame]
I don't care who the sponsor is. Farmers or NBCsports or whatever. Don't care. Just want to see the new unis. I like the idea of jerseys like the german ones but with little blue and gold stripes.
I'M NOT ALONE, lol. I can't count the number of times I've been stopped by people either telling me about their Herbalife experiences, or asking if I sell it. I was stuck in line on one occasion, and had my ear talked off for ten minutes straight.
Agreed. I hate MLMs! Here's hoping we get something more interesting to fans as well. Samsung (just for instance) would have so many more cool fan tie ins to the HDC than supplements.
base white is our home colors now, i seriously doubt they will ever change. I wouldn't mind seeing blue shorts though with white socks and shirt however
I would much rather see a corporate sponsor be a normal corporation rather than a MLM like Herbalife. From a personal point of view, it would be nice if Vanguard decided to become a sponsor (a cleaner alternative to something like AEG). FWIW, Nissan moved most if not all of its corporate and other offices out of LA to Franklin Tenn. a number of years ago. However, Toyota (and its Lexus sub) are in Torrance; Hyundai is in Fountain Valley and IIRC Suzuki is here as well.
The blue one rocks, but with the yellow one I can already hear the "urine-stain" jokes heading LA's way from the haters .
What does a corporation’s headquarters have to do with anything? I’d say more than half the teams with kit sponsors aren’t located in the city where the company is headquartered (DC, Portland, Chivas, Philly, San Jose, New York, Montreal (sort of), Vancouver)
mhmm, plus we are the international team of the MLS. the sponsor needs to appeal to the entire USA if not the world. like the idea of Aon
Herbalife is based out of Carson, and they ended up on our jerseys. I say locality does factor into who AEG looks at - the bigger the home market for the product, the more money they can extract from the sponsor.
I think more like the other way around. Location matters to the company dropping the dough. I am sure AEG would take anyone's money (within reason). But for a sponsor to really make the most of the B2B opportunities, ideally it's someone who can leverage the HDC appropriately. I would not be surprised to see Herbalife re-up for another contract. Another possibility: Seiko • They already have the Landon Donovan tie in • The relative low price point of their watches is perfect for the demo • It has universal appeal across the country / continent
They make incredibly good watches too, probably the best for price v value. I like Seiko, it would be a very simple logo and thin so it wouldn't take over the jersey.
The two most trustworthy watches I own is my old Swatch and a hand-me-down Seiko from the late 80's. The thing has never had its battery replaced yet just keeps on ticking . I know what I'm wearing once the apocalypse hits (hell of a slogan ain't it?)
