Ive listened to this station since back in the day in the late nineties when it used to be talkradio, remember alan brazil and mike parry in the morning, then mike dickin and tom watt and james whale at night. But now, the station drives me feckin mad, most of the presenters are either idiots or arrogant pricks who spout absolute drivel. The only saving grace for me is hawkesby and jacobs who manage to provide real entertainment, though even theyve become a bit predictable now. Take adrian durham and goughie for instance, the banality of the show is enough to make me happy to sit through 3 hours of jazz fm than that crap. Everyday they make issues out of the most tedious of topics. I liked goughie as a player but now u see the real side to him, i vaguely remember him saying once something about not understanding how poor people earning less than 50k can survive! WTF? Sacking porkie parry was a shocking decision, yeah he talked nonsense but there was a serious broadcaster behing that facade and everyone loved him. Keys and gray? Just the false laughs make me wanna be sick, they never take calls and just suck off every guest they get. And everyone is a top man, or a proper football club. Georgie Galloway? What an asshole, at first i thought he was entertaining, different, but he needs to change the record once in a while Yeah its never going to be the same kind of radio station as fivelive, and so it shouldnt be, but it would be nice to have the old talksport where im not cringing at the presenters or feeling patronised by them all day.
The only time it's ever worth listening to this station is when one of the big 4 teams loose and listen to people like Adrian Durham just loose his shit over trivial things.
Did they sack Parry? I thought he jumped ship. He went to Radio 5 - did one show and was never seen again.
Im pretty sure they sacked him, they got rid of him and put graham on nights and gave keys/gray the 10-1 slot
He wasnt sacked, he left because Keys and Gray were appointed and given a primetime slot. He now does a online sports programme called sportstonightlive.com Its very good especially on fri before the games
I'll flip between them and and BBC 5 Live. I'll usually only tune in after some dumpster fire of a headline occurs during the week, and after matches on the weekend. Sometimes I'll have the political stuff on later as background noise.
