I think we basically agree, but you take a more cynical view of the process (shocking, right?) I would posit that I'm not diverting attention from good to better, or that I'm distracting from poor/no perception, but that I'm helping to focus in on salient points, instead of letting the prospect/customer be overwhelmed by the amount of information available.
ohhhhhhhhhhhh you are good at your job!!!!!! See that is just what a good marketing manager will do. I appreciate this effort to the maximum. I really do. Seriously, this dude deserves rep from anyone on these boards involved in marketing on some level. This post was perfect.
We're saying the same thing, I just don't agree with your wording. I originally thought you were saying that this was an attempt to distract fans from the SSS, DPs, etc. which I don't agree with.
If they use the time the consumers are distracted to improve the product or create more demand. This isn't going to create more demand. It is only there to save the dwindling demand. Which they need to do, but is very transparent right now.
I think we all agree that the Revs need improvements, which includes marketing AND on-field talent. It seems to be suggested that the new kit marketing is just a distraction from the poor on-field performance. However, should the marketing staff be paralyzed until the Revs acquire better talent? The organization is promoting the new kit. We, as Revs fans, should be supportive of the improvements.
At least we got some marketing and something to look forward to (it doesn't happen much so I feel the need to embrace it).
here's my best guess as to what the final product will look like (obviously terrible photoshop but whatever) also the collar is a complete guess.
Well, we've worn worse. We've worn better, but we've worn worse. I would hope the red and blue to each be just a little bit deeper, but whatever.
Could somebody please post a picture of the collar (or lack thereof) for those of us without access to Facebook?
